An Insanity Test 10/28/2001
WORD OF THE DAY: veritable. I love that word.
Note... this test is not an actual determination of insanity... it is JUST 4 FUN!!!!

29. Have you ever trash picked? Yes. It was sick. My toothbrush fell in. I put it in a glass of peroxide for a day and a half before I even thought about using it again.

Shinigami is not amused. 10/19/2001
WORD OF THE DAY: jitney
Yeah, on yet another GW kick.
I stayed home from school today with a stummyache. I'd taped the Linkin Park Gonna Meet A Rock Star for Lor and in return she lent me Wayne's World and Wayne's World 2. Ahh, it'd been so long since I'd seen Wayne and Garth... :-)
Went to the haunted house tonight. I got the scythe! Wahoo Nooch! I stood behind this picture frame wearing a robe and these holographic glasses, holding the scythe, and scaring the crap out of anyone who walked through the door. Out of sheer boredom, I let Shinigami take over my brain and went around calling myself that and talking in the third person. "People coming through three and four times does not amuse Shinigami." It kinda freaked Heather out. Anyone who has Spiritual Machines by Our Lady Peace will remember before "Everyone's A Junkie" there's the talking bit with this girl singing "Big green monkey, everyone's a junkie". So I was whistling that to freak people out. :-)
There was this guy Tom there... He's funny. He was in the graveyard. We talked a bit, Heather and I bugged him... Fun fun.
Earlier today I was looking at some art by Spade. Great stuff, 'specially GW. :-)

If It Feels Good, Do It 10/16/2001
WORD OF THE DAY: tocsin
The title is the new Sloan song. Sloan is good. I like Sloan.
Well, I suppose I shall start with the weekend. We made it to Ottawa around three, and I promptly e-mailed Casey to tell him I was there. Then we had to go to the mall to get my uncle a birthday present. Lo and behold, who do we run into but Casey. *grins* I had a feeling he'd be there and from the second I got to the mall I kept looking over my shoulder. And then of course, the second I saw him, I knew it was him, he knew it was me, and I took off.
We had a pretty good time. Stared at lobster again. I had the camera with me this time, took a photo trip. Good times, good times.
Uncle Jack's birthday party was pretty cool. I still feel incredibly out of place with my relatives though. I have no cousins my age on Mom's side of the family. I don't fit. Blah. I took some pictures of that too.
Monday I had a yearbook meeting; we talked about themes.
Today, student council. Heather had to run the meeting 'cause our PM wasn't there. She did pretty good I think.
Later on at lunch I went on a bit of a glomping spree. I must have latched onto ten people. Anita was trying to walk away and drag me along the hallway but she couldn't. Mwah ha. It was fun.
Tomorrow at lunch I have to go to yearbook again and learn how the cameras work. Sweet! Shutterbug. :-)

FREE! FREE AT LAST! sort of... 9/15/2001
Yeah, only sort of. I finished writing Undersea Master, finally! That's three down, one to go. I finished The Flirt and Snow Job a while ago, and now I just have Go Home to finish. I'm going to attempt to close up Go Home enough that I don't have to keep writing, but also so it's open to a sequel should I regain interest. *sigh* It's amazing. I might even finish it tonight. Which would be good, because I have some stuff planned:

I'm considering entering the murder mystery but it's kinda graphic. Oh well. I'll see how far I get. And Casey's stoked on Sleepy Hollow, because he loves that movie, 'specially the part when Brom dies. Mwha, that's great.
And the Wufei one... where in any realm/world/earth/dimension did I come up with a Wufei story?! This one, sadly. Actually, I think it's a pretty good idea, but I won't discuss it until it's written a bit more.
Book 2 of 7th D. should be good. I have a plot for Erin, thanks to Andrea of all people, since my muse Dysentery Gary has been idle for the past few months. Damn you Gary. So yeah.

Never Come Back 10/12/2001

I was volunteering at Pumpkinfest tonight. Mwah ha, that was fun. I was out in the 'cemetary' scaring people by saying "Never come back" in a gravelly voice and walking after them all zombie-like. It was amazing. Heather, Lauren, Katie and Anita were there too.
Talking to Casey... I e-mailed him earlier today telling him that I was going to be in Ottawa this weekend and he says to me just now, "Ahhh, you're gonna be here again?!" Yes. Yes I am. He was worried we'd have no time to hang out 'cause I'm supposed to be going to Uncle Jack's 50th birthday party, but if we leave at about eleven like Mom wants, we'll be there in four hours max, so 3:00. Plenty of time. I'm going to remember the camera this time. *grins sheepishly*

LOL, that makes me laugh. Gundam Wing is great. I love it. I'm singing along to Just Communication again. It's insane. Still, does anyone know where the lyrics are? I'd appreciate knowing. Thanks a lot.
I e-mailed Dad about Julie. He said that he'd told Mom this summer. Mom never mentioned it. He knows he hasn't said anything about them moving in together but he said he'd 'announce' it this weekend. Oh brother.
Speaking of this weekend, I may have mentioned my uncle's birthday party this weekend that we couldn't go to. Well, we can and are now. Sweet! I had to cancel working at Pumpkinfest on Saturday and Sunday but Lauren didn't kill me, which is good. If she did, I wouldn't be able to work at all. :-P So I'm going to Ottawa this weekend. I haven't told Casey yet. Mom wants me to ask what Wendy's he works at so we can show up and scare the shit out of him. I laughed my head off at that, simply because it was Mom's idea. If he wants to know why I'm asking I'm saying that my cousin's developing stalker tendancies.

The Memory Won't Escape Me 10/9/2001
WORD OF THE DAY: chagrin
Went to Lauren's house. She lives on this hugeass farm and the Leo's club is holding Pumpkinfest there. There's this haunted house in the basement of their barn and a maze in the cornfield. I had to tie fishing line to this grate so they could hang it from the ceiling. Then it feels really weird when you walk through it. I had a load of fun. Lauren took Niki and I though the corn maze and then just let him run ahead even though he didn't know the way. So we're standing there at the end and me, Lauren, and her brother are there and we're like, "Niki? Hellooo?" Lauren made her brother go in and get him and then we hid in the corn near the end and jumped out and scared the shit out of him. Niki's cool.
At lunch I told Lor that I can rap. She didn't believe me. I said, yeah, I can, sort of. I sing Mike's parts in the Linkin Park songs all the time. She laughed at me so I started singing In The End. She still laughed at me. Oh well.
Casey wants me to write a demo for his horror movie. I'm like, sweet, what's a demo? He explained and I told him I'd see what I could do, but don't hold your breath.
This morning while watching Gundam Wing, this character just popped into my head. His name is Dave Rainecone, the Anti-Muse. He started beating the shit out of my real muse, Dysentery Gary, until I split them up. I might write a story about them.
On the topic of Gundam Wing, today's episode was "Grief Stricken Quatre." You know, the one where his sister finds him and he goes home and his dad's all mad, and then there's people mad at Mr. Winner, and he dies and Quatre goes nuts. Yeah, that one. At the end when Quatre does that laughing... that scared me. To see sweet little Quatre with his eyes wide, laughing manically like that, it was freaky.

So Long, Can't Stay 10/7/2001

Well, I haven't left yet, but I will. As soon as Dad gets here. Dammit.
I downloaded a whole bunch of songs, among them Just Communication. It's so funny, I'm sitting here singing at the top of my lungs when I don't know the words or what I'm saying because it's all in Japanese, but I can sing it okay because I've heard it so many times. Gundam Wing is great. If anyone knows where I can find the lyrics and/or a translation, that'd be great. I'd like to know what I'm saying, hehe.
Last night Sum41 were on Saturday Night Live. Kick. I taped their performances. Fat Lip and In Too Deep. This one tape I have is almost all Sum41. I have Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, Sum41 Live @ Much, the In Too Deep video (by far the funniest I've seen), and then their SNL performances. Heheh.
Mom and Andrea closed the town hall after a wedding last night. I fell asleep before they got back but on the table was leftover wedding cake and a fruit platter. Yummy. And in the living room is a vase of flowers. Daisies and lily-of-the-valley I think. Smells good anyway.
I should eat breakfast.

And I only fucking realized today that it fits me too. I am too much like Duo. Sure, it may not seem to be a bad thing to pilot a mobile suit and go around saving the world... but he is really a very fucked up guy. He hides behind the mask of smiles and sarcastic jokes we know all too well, and yet, underneath all that he's scared, he's sad, he's confused, he's trying so hard to make everything go well, he's running from death, he's hiding from his friends, and lying to himself in the process.
Yes, Shinigami is running from death. Since almost anyone who has ever gotten close to him has died (i.e., Solo, Father Maxwell and Sister Helen), the only way for Duo to escape death is by controlling it, therefore he takes on the God of Death persona. A good analysis on all the characters that I agree with can be found here.
In any case, the whole death thing doesn't fit with me, but the rest does.
I'm rarely frowning. The only thing I complain about is being hungry, the length of my classes, and the asshole sitting behind me in English. I've only ever told... maybe three people about any problems I have personally, and even then I didn't go into detail. Only Heather, Kim, Lor, Julie and Casey know about Dad's Julie, and not even all of them know she's coming to Thanksgiving dinner this weekend or that she and Dad are moving in together. I never tell them that, yeah, to you my parents are the greatest, but at home they're the most fucked up people ever. Like, don't ever get Mom pissed or ask her for something while she's pissed or she'll get off on a rant that lasts until bedtime. And Dad seems to cling to Andrea and I and almost ignores Daniel. I can't remember the last time he played hockey 1-on-1 with Daniel or did something 'just the two of them'. Last year Mom told me that Daniel said he didn't care if Dad came to the last playoff game.
And when I go to bed I think about it all and cry. Whenever someone asks me directly about something even vaguely related to anything, I put up my mask and say something sarcastic about it. In the case of my doctor (she's the greatest), I let down the mask and start crying. Even if it's not even directly related, it'll get me into the mindset and I'll be like, this reminds me of that, which goes to the other thing, which goes to that thing over there which makes me upset.
I run, I hide, but I never lie. That's me in a nutshell. When I first heard Duo say those words it made me laugh. Now all it's going to do is remind me of myself.
To all the Duo Maxwells out there, I salute you. We'll get through this.

I just finished watching Clerks. The movie, not the cartoon. Lor lent it to me. God that's a funny movie. Dante. Hehe.
I had a busy lunch hour today. I had to go take my quiz on Shakespeare and then run off to a meeting. Yearbook. Funfun. Tomorrow I shall be enslaved selling student ID cards. After Katie's description of the havoc that ensued today, I fear for my life. No comment.
Had a senior branch meeting last night. Spa night. My strawberry face mask smelled good. Yum. And I soaked my feet in Really Hot water (good for my wart, hehe), Heather did my nails, and she, Kim and I acted nutso in the parking lot. Good times, good times.

Happy October 10/1/2001
WORD OF THE DAY: tchotchke. This word is pronounced "CHAHCH-kuh" and it makes me laugh to say it. ^_^
My computer is being painstakingly slpw, especially when switching between windows. *sigh* Time for another disk cleanup I suppose. Mom's friend Leo (our unofficial computer guy) says a defrag might help too. I'll do that later.
I'm home sick today. My ears still hurt. After Mom told me to get up, I waited a bit, put on my most forlorn and pained face and wandered into the living room and told her my ears hurt. When asked if they were too bad to go to school I nodded and said they were throbbing. Score! They do hurt, but I could've survived school. I just didn't feel like going. I'm still reeling from learning that Dad and Julie are going to be living together, I suppose.
Fuck. I was thinking about it last night and the confusion of it all made me cry. I don't fucking know what to think, and it bothers me that Mom doesn't know about Julie yet. I, personally, want to start going to Toronto every other weekend again instead of Dad coming out here all the time, and if that happens I think Mom has a right to know who her kids are living with while they're away. Plus -- and I know this is one of those stupid insecurities that isn't true -- I'm kinda worried that Dad might not come visit as often when Julie's living there. *sigh* Thanksgiving weekend could be a ticking time bomb.
