Party On... Again. 12/31/2001
WORD OF THE DAY: syllabub
Caitlin's having a new year's party tonight and I'm going. Apparently some people are sleeping over, but she only lives down the street and I don't particularly feel like it so I'm going to come home afterwards.
I wrote yet another GW story. I'm stuck with Shinigami's Judgement... I can't think of anything for Quatre's chapter. Any GW fans reading this, can you think of any questions Quatre would ask Duo in the afterlife? Might wanna read the story to get an idea... (hint hint, wink wink)
I have applesauce. Go me.
Daniel's watching Winnie-the-Pooh. Tigger has decided that he is going to "forsake merriment forever." Noooo!
Blah. I don't have anything to say really... *sigh*
Later.
Kumquat Smoothies all,
Jenna D.

Just So You Know... 12/30/2001
Right now, it's 2:06 PM, I just finished writing that last entry, I'm listening to "My Christmas List" by Simple Plan, and I'm wearing my sheep pyjamas. Oh, the glories of winter vacation.

Rest In Pieces, Stumpay 12/30/2001
WORD OF THE DAY: balneology
Ahhhhhhh yesterday was fun. I went over to Heather's in the morning - it's so awesome to be able to walk to her house now - and we killed a snowman. He was going to be called Hobo Joe, but he ended up as Stumpay. The snow wasn't very good for making snowmen, so we ended up just shovelling snow off her lawn into this pile and packing it into this... square-like shape, then we got a bucket (also square) and packed that with snow, and put it on top... oh God, it looked ridiculous. After some adjustments, we ended up with Stumpay, the American neo-Nazi Hitler wannabe who we killed for stealing my scarf and threatening democracy.e mean no offense to anyone who falls into the above description, so don't bother me. Especially when the pictures come out... ohhhhh doctor! Heather sent me the pics from her camera this morning, I just have to convert them into .jpgs, put them in order with my pics, and then make the pages. And post them. :-)
Ahhhhhh, my legs finally feel normal again. I had my cat lying on my lap for like, an hour, and my legs were crossed... it's comfortable for a while, until your legs start falling asleep... I tried to move Zippy and he just left. *sigh* Fickle creatures, cats are... but they're just so damn cute. Zippy was sleeping and he had that little I-am-just-the-most-wonderful-animal-on-the-face-of-the-planet look on his face. 'Course, what pet owner can deny what that face is saying? Exactly. Now he's curled up next to the heater, lying on the goalie blocker and glove that Daniel got for Christmas.
Damn, I should take a shower. I stink. Sorry. You guys didn't need to know that. *shrugs*

More Toe Socks! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 12/27/2001
I got back from my Grammy's house today... but it's late now so I shall only say this: I got more toe socks. Ahh gotta love 'em. And my Grandma and Uncle Al are staying here for a while. Nooch.

Not that I'd have any use for them in this climate... but...
Well, everyone's got them!
Oh, I'm so sad, aren't I?
Thanks for your note btw.
I feel better about the whole kitten thing now.

Damn The Weather 12/25/2001
A green Christmas. A Fucking Green Christmas. They got snow in Ottawa, but here? Noooooooo. Of course not. Fuckers. I probably won't even get to ski at all this year. Damn you Mother Nature! Feel the wrath that is my fury at the lack of white stuff! Oh. Sorry. Didn't know you guys were here. Errr... Happy Christmas?!
As you can tell, I'm pretty pissed off about the snow... or lack thereof. There is none. Zilch. Nada. Fuck.
Other than that, you know, Santa was good to me. Got books. Lotsa books. Books that make me smile. And other stuff too...
Tales From Beneath Your Mom, a book about blink-182- written by Mark's sister Anne... soooo funny. Nice pictures, and Anne's a pretty good writer.
Whisperings of Magic by Karleen Bradford. She's Canadian, and this book is the sequel to Dragonfire, which I read this past summer. I started reading it, which was dumb of me because I'm reading Lady in the Tower right now, but oh well.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling. I finally have the second book! Wahoo Nooch! I've read it, just gotta read Goblet of Fire, if that idiot who stole it from the library at school would just give it back... *evil glare*
The Writer's Block. I forget who this is by, but Andrea got it for me. It's a stubby kind of book, and it looks like a block. What you're supposed to do it just open it to a random page and then do the exercise on the page to get your mind working. Some of them have an 'assignment', others just a word, still others have a little paragraph with something to think about. I rather like it.
One of those Klutz books, this one on hair wraps.
The Nickelback CD, Silver Side Up. It's good. Very good.
Pearl Harbor. The movie. I'm so horrible; I saw the title, remembered it and started crying. We're going to watch it later.
More chocolate than you can imagine.
So yeah, it was good. Hehe, like, ten minutes after dinner, Dad fell asleep on the couch. Haha.
Last night, I FINALLY saw A Knight's Tale. It kicked total ass. I love Geoff Chaucer... he was hilarious.
Meleh... I'm stuffed.....
Kumquat Smoothies all,

Then I spent the whole next week telling everyone how cool Heath Ledger was.
Damn hormones.
Nickelback are cool. I want their album.
Didn't snow here, either. Rained. Pissed it down.
Damn Britain.
Okay, done rambling. Hope you had a good Christmas.

The Posessed Lamp 12/22/2001
WORD OF THE DAY: syncretic
We moved today. God am I tired. I got so frustrated and stressed out. I curled up in Mom's room at one point and probably slept for about half an hour. Then later, I wanted toast, 'cause I was cold, and I just started crying when I couldn't find the God damned toaster. I had to use the toaster oven. And I'm still cold. I put on my pyjamas at twenty after six, and it's 8:45 now. They're warm. I fucking hate moving.
My bed is screwed. The one I had before was breaking so we trashed it and I'm using one of my brother's old beds (he's keeping the bunk beds he got when we moved to the apartment), except they got the wrong spring thing out of storage so it doesn't exactly work. Dad wants to get me a completely new bed, but Mom said to wait until after we're done painting. I still have the picture of the one I saw in the Ikea catalogue like, three years ago that I like, maybe I can get that one.
Mom was tired too, so she got us pizza for dinner. The usual: half pepperoni, half Hawaiian. Pepperoni for Andrea and Daniel, Hawaiian for me and Mom. Reminds me of Thursday. I ate six slices. Mwahah.
I went to Katie's Christmas party last night. I kicked Lor's ass at ping-pong and then she kicked mine at air hockey. *sigh* I didn't even attempt pool, Tom would've won with one hand tied behind his back. And I played some other game against Katie, Tom and Caitlin and lost. Damn. It was fun though.
We're watching Shrek. Nooch.
I should definitely catch up on my sleep within the next two weeks.
Still don't have a Christmas present for Mom. Dad had to leave because he has to go to this wine-and-cheese party for work, but he'll be back tomorrow. Mom wants a watch, gloves, and a clock radio. No problemo.
Andrea was in a chatroom earlier and someone was speaking Japanese and she kept asking me what they were saying. "What's atashi mean? What's otaku? What's a good insult for the guy that just called me a baka onna?" I told her to call the guy a teme and tell him to zakkenayo. Thank you to Xiaoyu for the Japanese cursing lessons. :-) Andrea knows the basics, you know, baka, kisama, onna, kuso... Hehe.
Yesterday I helped load up all the stuff from the toy drive we had and Katie was taking a picture for the yearbook. The camera wasn't working and I threatened to use my Japanese vocabulary, "...and you know what that consists of!" She laughed. Turned out there was something wrong with the flash. *sigh*
There was a talent assembly on Friday too. Dug played. They're named after Heather's brother Doug. They played a bunch of Pennywise stuff and a little Nirvana. One Second 2 Late played too. Personally I like OS2L better 'cause, they have their own music. The choir sang a song, and the jazz band played something too. It was a good assembly.
And, damn the school, they managed to make us go to all our classes that day by screwing around with the schedule. And Mrs. Larock actually gave us Civics homework for the vacation! *sigh* It's nothing major, I can finish it in like, fifteen minutes. In Music we watched movies, in English we sat around and did nothing all period. Lor and I played Guess Who?. In History, we finished watching Pearl Harbor. I cried. A lot. It was so friggin' sad! I won't give it away for people who haven't seen it, but awww... When the lights went on, Rob looked around and said, "Okay, now let's see who was crying." A bunch of people were, including one of the guys. I could tell, his eyes were all red. Kim thought it was sweet, 'cause she likes him.
Anyway, I've got stuff to do.
Kumquat Smoothies all,

Free The Dumb! 12/19/2001
WORD OF THE DAY: gnomic. And no, it has nothing to do with those little dudes you put on your lawn.
Tonight is our school's Christmas Concert. The title is a reference to a joke Heather and I have about one of the songs, "Freedom's Light." (Composed by James Swearingen, if anyone cares.) We're also playing "Swinging On The Housetop", "Songs of Christmas" (with those damned grade nines...), "The Hockey Night In Canada Theme", and like we do every year, "We Wish You A Merry Christmas", which is performed with all the other bands.
As a result, I had a very laid-back day today. In Civics I ran a bunch of errands for my teacher and started working on a question sheet, but I was with Amielia and Leigh, which was fun. In Music, we rehearsed for tonight's concert and then watched Mallrats afterwards. In English we watched movies, and I drew some pictures -- one of Jay, and I started a strange Shinigami one. And in History we started watching Pearl Harbor.
Amielia gave me candy for a Christmas present. Honestly, it's the best one so far.
I know I dis the grade nines a lot, but there are polite ones in the school. Hard concept to grasp, I know, but it's true. At the end of the day there was this lock on the floor and some kid was looking for it, so I gave it to him and the guy actually thanked me. Very much actually. I almost passed out from the shock. Normally they're rude little bastards.
Anyway, I gotta go get ready for the concert. I'm taking a photo trip. I'm also taking one on Friday 'cause it's the last day before break.
Later!
Kumquat Smoothies all,

Notes
Heheh. I love the word "gnomic".
I just spent half an hour trying to work out what grade nines were in Britain. There's something wrong with me.

Later!
Kumquat Smoothies all,
~*Jenna D.*~
Notes
Heheh. I love the word "gnomic".
I just spent half an hour trying to work out what grade nines were in Britain. There's something wrong with me.

Mike Turner Leaves Our Lady Peace 12/14/2001
Yeah, this was written four days ago. TOD's server should be dragged into the street and shot. *sigh* Fuckers.
~*~**~*~
Damn you Scuba Steve! Mike left OLP. And right after I do my project on them too! I found out yesterday when Mom picked me up from yearbook. She gave me the article from the Toronto Sun. She said she was reading it at her break and was like, "Oh no! And she has a presentation on them today!" and nobody knew what she was talking about. She actually considered calling the school, but it wouldn't have mattered 'cause my presentation was in the morning and she didn't read it until later. *sigh*
This is what they have to say at the Our Lady Peace Web Site:
Our Lady Peace And Guitarist Mike Turner Separate
December 12, 2001
Citing musical and creative differences, Mike Turner and Our Lady Peace have amicably separated.
Our Lady Peace return from recording a series of songs in Maui, HA with Bob Rock this week. The band plan to return to Hawaii in January for 2-3 weeks to complete recording their fifth album, which will be released in 2002.
A replacement guitarist has not been named at this point.
So yeah. Mike's gone. Heather was pissed. I tried calling her on the cell in the car on the way home but it didn't work, so I called her when I got home and she wasn't there... Her MSN name is now "Mike's A Stupid Child."
Anyway, other than that, yesterday was cool.
On Wednesday my Rangers unit had our Christmas party thing. We went out to dinner and then saw Ocean's Eleven. That movie kicks ass, I recommend it.
I'm going out again tonight. *gasp!* She goes out more than once a week?! Yes! It's Anita's birthday party. We're going to see Not Another Teen Movie and then going to hang out at her place. I got her some funkyass pear bath stuff. I should make her card now...
I got a new outfit last night. Mom and I went shopping and I got Anita's present, and then I started looking for something to wear to next week's Christmas concert. I found black jeans with sparkles (me and my sparkle fetish... hehehe), and then a red turtleneck. Mom says it's an early Christmas present.
Tomorrow on Gundam Wing it's episode 21 again, the one where Quatre starts going insane. Poor guy. I heart Quatre.
Well, gotta go.
Kumquat Smoothies all,
~*Jenna D.*~
Notes
Jeez, what are the odds of that guy leaving on the very same day of your presentation on him? Anyhow, don't worry, I'm sure things will turn out alright though.
RYN: If I do go to Canada (very big IF), I'll be at Mississauga, which is pretty close to Toronto, right? *shrugs* Anyway it's all very tentative at this point of time. :) [lazy_cowgirl]

I Won't Tell Them Your Name... 12/11/2001
WORD OF THE DAY: deflagrate
I finished my Our Lady Peace project. Wahoo nooch! Of course Katie's pissed at me for that. I always finish stuff before her. It's a presentation, and I usually do better on them than she does too. Hers is on James Naismith, the dude that invented basketball. That's a given.
Argh, sometimes having finished the book is a bad thing. In English, I've been finished reading To Kill A Mockingbird for a while now and because of it, Ms. Doyle has me marking the quizzes and stuff from the grade 11's and 12's. They're reading Lord of the Flies and A Separate Place respectively. I'm almost finished all the assignments for the thing anyway. I just have one left and it's almost done. Go me!
Last night was the Leo's Club open house. Heather, Anita, and Lauren (Marcia) were there, as well as Nicole, Chris (one of many...), and Krista. That was about it. Anyway, we went on with it, business as usual. Chris had to make this speech and he's reeeally bad at writing speeches so I helped him with it. After the boring meeting part we had a motion to eat (seconded by Heather and thirded by me) and ate all the food and stuff. Someone brought Nanimo bars. I LOVE those things.
Anyway, while we were talking Nicole said that her boyfriend and a bunch of his friends had a band and they were performing in the upcoming talent show/Christmas assembly at school. You will never guess what they named the band. Doug. Named after, of all people, Heather's older brother. They're called Doug. Heather just shook her head at that.
I kinda sorta almost maybe okay maybe it was or it probably wasn't but it could have been anyway it happened and I got in a bit of a fight with Casey. An overstepping-my-bounds kind of thing. He got a little ticked at me. We haven't talked since Sunday. I told Laura about it today and she was like, "Oh no! Did you break up?" like we were dating or something. Damn her for thinking my sister's cool. But no, I assured Lor that we were still "together" (if you could call it that), just had a fight, like all friends do sometimes.
My mother is watching Stepmom. It's on TV right now. Last time I saw it, it reminded me of Dad and Julie.
I've started researching the family history on my dad's side. I found a site about a dude in Illinois who was an abolitionist and he came from the same area in Scotland that my ancestors did... I'm just wondering where Papa Don fits in, if he does at all... *shrugs* The site's run by one of his descendents so I e-mailed him. I'll ask Dad some stuff too.
Well, I'm off. I have stuff to do... (read: fanfiction to read). Later.
Kumquat Smoothies all,
~*Jenna D.*~

The name thing confused the hell outta me, but it's okay. I always read entries like this in my brain:
So she has this friend who did this, and that friend who did that.
LOL. Names really don't stick with me.
I'm glad you're still "together"... I get that alot with my friend Jason too.
Yeah, that's his real name *evil grin*
[lazy_cowgirl]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eh. Names. I use Xiaoyu so much that my friends have started calling me that. Same with Leviathan. And Yoshi. And Allie. I named all of them and somehow the names stuck...

Thanks so much for the compliment! Well, it's still not confirmed at all, but if I do make it to Canada, I'd be staying at my uncle's at Lake Ontario. You anywhere close? :) And ahhhhh, you have SNOW! You lucky girl, I've never seen a single flake of snow in my entire life... [lazy_cowgirl]

P.A. Days 12/7/2001
WORD OF THE DAY: sylvan
Today was a P.A. Day... a day off school for absolutely no reason other than the school board saying so. Casey deliberately faked sick so he could stay home and talk to us on our day off. Awwww. He made two movies this morning. Something about running into doors.
His Christmas package is all ready to go. I would've mailed it today except there's all those specifications about size and weight and how fast you want it shipped and I really didn't feel like dealing with that today, so Mom and I are going tomorrow.
Mom and Andrea went to Toronto for Andrea's appointment at Sick Kids Hospital (just a checkup, she's fine), and Daniel and I hung out all day today... he took an epic shower and then we went out to get pizza for lunch with the money Mom left us.
I downloaded "Lovers In A Dangerous Time" by the Barenaked Ladies. It's a cover of a Bruce Cockburn song, for those that don't know. I love that song.
I was talking to a reader last night and I asked where he was from. He gave me his full mailing address. Oh-kay.... No, I didn't write it down. I don't stalk people I haven't met. :-P
In English the other day it was kind of a lazy read-until-chapter-23-and-then-do-a-word-search kind of day because an illuuuuuuusionist was coming in. Me, with my intense hatred of word searches, drew a holiday-themed Gundam Wing picture. If I had a scanner I'd put it up, but I don't, so I can't. At first I tried to draw Heero sitting at his computer, looking pissed off at Duo for putting a goofy Santa haton his head, but I couldn't draw Heero's arms right. Then I changed it to Heero walking through a doorway, with Duo leaning against a wall nearby saying, "Look up, Heero..." You guessed it. Mistletoe. Katie laughed her head off, saying, "Now try drawing what comes after that." Me: "That would probably be Heero dragging Duo by the braid to the bedroom and slamming the door behind them." She busted a gut at that one. *grins* We are such freaks.
This Hour Has 22 Minutes is on. For our American friends, these are the people who went down to the States a year or so back "Talking To Americans." Anyone cornered by Rick Mercer and asked about Prime Minster Jean Poutine or to sing our national anthem -...Fermez la bouche, mangez poutine... - or to comment on our national igloo, or people sitting on top of Peter Mansbridge... I laughed my ass off at that. It was a huge special on CBC. In any case, only in Canada would the top politicians - including the Prime Minister, Jean Chretien (not poutine) - allow Colin Mochrie to walk up to them and ask them to participate in a spoof of Twas The Night Before Christmas about the national budget AND participate willingly.
Politicians with a sense of humour. Another reason I love Canada.
Damn, I wish I had a friggin' scanner. I want to put the few good pieces of artwork I have online. I could probably scan them at school, put them on a disk... I might do that. I have to go in and type up the names of all the grade 11's in my school for the yearbook, maybe I'll ask how the scanner works then and "coincidentially" use one of my pics to try it out. Hmm....
I was playing rock star in my room again today. :-P I put on MuchMusic and run around singing. Lor and I wonder about guitarists and jumping. I brought it up again last night. We laughed about it and I said, "I'm jumping." She said, "What?" "With the band. I'm jumping." Lor laughed at that. Anyway, I think running around and getting everyone psyched would be the best part. I really think that I'll write a series about Wednesday's Deceit... just for fun. When I'm done the stories I'm writing currently.
I'm going to take 7th Dimension off the net. But it'll be back... When I'm done writing Shinigami's Judgement, A New Ego, and The Legend of the Headless Sandrock (AU, humour/adventure fic inspired by my brother's Sandrock toy... which has no head), I'm going to take 7th D. down and rewrite it. It will have the same characters, their 'clones' will remain, but the Seventh Dimension will disappear. I'll keep a copy of the original, just for sentiment, but there won't be any interdimensional travel, just these embodiments of the kids' consciences and souls, for which I don't have a name. If anyone does have a name for these... 'things', particularly one that could also be used as a series title, I would reeeeeeally appreciate it and you will receive my undying love and credit for the idea. :-) Arigato!
The reason I'm taking out the whole Dimension thing is because it's not developed well enough. It's hard for me to create and stick to rules for this other world and it complicates things immensely. I can't describe the book's concept in a concise manner, which would be quite a hinderance when it comes to writing a query letter. Besides, I want to focus more on the 'theme' of the book. These are aimed at things that teens experience in this world; for example, the first book's 'theme' is gang violence. I didn't even mention that until the 7th or 8th chapter. I need to work on that more. I don't expect to have my book ready enough to write queries to publishers until at least grade 12. On this TV show I usually skip over there was a whole thing about getting published and I took a page front and back of notes. That and the project I did earlier in the semester should be a big help.
Kumquat Smoothies all,

You lost me at 7th Dimension. But not to worry, I'm naturally very dense. *grins* The Gundam Christmas thing was very amusing, even though I'm not a big 'Dammer. LOL. You and your crazy ideas. [lazy_cowgirl]

Gundam toys. Love them. Mostly because you can take them apart and mix up the bits. I have a DeathscytheHell-Altron-Epyon hybrid thingy. All my favourite Gundams in one handy package. Plus the sexual connotations are pretty funny. I think my brother's words were: "Oh my god! Epyon mated with Deathscythe!" Waiii... ^_^

Remember The Montreal Massacre 12/6/2001
I don't know how many people know about this. Canadians will/should.
On December 6, 1989, a man went into L'Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal, shot, and killed fourteen female engineering students for no reason other than this: they were women. The man believed that the women at the school had stolen his chances of getting into the school.
Today our schools' flags were at half-mast and we bought white ribbons to wear in rememberance. The money is going towards Kids' Help Phone. This is the day when we remember victims of violence towards women.
I know it's late in the day, but take a moment to reflect on this. Violence against anyone must be stopped.

Our Lady Peace 12/6/2001
While doing research for my Civics project on Our Lady Peace (yes, I get to do a project on an awesome band -- I'll explain later), I stumbled across the poem they got their name from. Thought I'd share.
Our Lady Peace
by Mark Van Doren
How far is it to peace, the piper sighed,
The solitary, sweating as he paused.
Asphalt the noon; the ravens, terrified,
Fled carrion thunder that percussion caused.
The envelope of earth was powder loud;
The taut wings shivered, driven at the sun.
The piper put his pipe away and bowed.
Not here, he said. I hunt the love-cool one,
The dancer with the clipped hair. Where is she?
We shook our heads, parting for him to pass.
Our lady was of no such trim degree,
And none of us had seen her face, alas.
She was the very ridges that we must scale,
Securing the rough top. And how she smiled
Was how our strength would issue. Not to fail
Was having her, gigantic, undefiled,
For homely goddess, big as the world that burned,
Grandmother and taskmistress, field and town.
We let the stranger go; but when we turned
Our lady lived, fierce in each other's frown.
Kumquat Smoothies all,
~*Jenna D.*~

That's too bad for your dad. It's nice that the person went back, but they should of noted that since they hit someone, they probably shouldn't back up, but get out of the car and then go back.

The envelope of earth was powder loud;

That's too bad for your dad. It's nice that the person went back, but they should of noted that since they hit someone, they probably shouldn't back up, but get out of the car and then go back.

Mercy Is The Cry Of The Soul That Stirred 12/4/2001
Title from the Tea Party: "Mantra".
I'm home sick. Blah.
I was reading the reviews to my stories on fanfiction.net. Someone was inspired by one of my stories, one of my earlier ones that I didn't really like. Unbeknownst to this, I read Raven's "The Basketball Diaries" and thought it was amazing. Then I read the review that told me about the whole inspiration thing, and I was in shock. Man, do I feel special.
Heather, Lor, and I may start a band. Well, we've been joking around about it. We're called Wednesday's Deceit. Casey might be our drummer. Heather's learning the guitar, Lor's getting bass lessons for Christmas, and guess who's the singer. Me. I'm not a *bad* singer, per se... okay, I'm bad. My voice is at least tolerable, in my opinion. The others think it's good. *shrugs* Besides, I'm the only one who *will* sing. We're using Heather's songs because they're good. Heather says, "Yeah, but you write songs too." "Yeah, rarely. And the ones I do write are crap. Yours are awesome." She laughs. Her best one, I think, is "Puke." It's hilarious.

Hope you feel better soon.

Oh and well it's supposed to bleed but infection would be hard to treat. You don't use peroxide on navels though, it's supposed to be a special cream.
So far all is well though. [jawbreaker]

Finally, They Put Some Thought In It 12/2/2001
WORD OF THE DAY: hark back
I took the photo trip for Casey yesterday. The weather was crappy and it rained a little for a while, but other than that the pics turned out okay.
Then of course, today was sunny.
I skipped church... missed the first day of Advent and communion... dammit... took a loooong shower, and then went skating with Katie at two. I didn't fall today! Mwahaha. Last time I fell about five times.
The other night Mom got reeeeally mad at me for being on the computer late. But I had a valid reason. I was on a mission. The mission comes first. LOL. Just so you people know, even though I'm fifteen, I still like to play Let's Pretend and stuff like that... only slightly more mature-like. Katie and I kidnapped the Gundam Pilots. I got to blow up Relena's house as a distraction. I took Trowa, Quatre and Wufei, and Katie took Heero and Duo. As a result, Katie has been eaten out of house and home and I have learned to play the entire scale on the flute. *grins* Did I mention I'm learning to play the flute? I am. Anyway, we made up all this stuff about what we'd been doing with the pilots at our house and stuff... neither of us have told our parents. I don't think they'd be too pleased to find that they have ex-terrorists living in their homes, LOL. We're funny like that. I like to pretend I'm a wizard too sometimes. Like Harry Potter. I took the Sorting Hat test on the web site and I'm in Gryffindor. Go me!
We're moving on December 22. We get to paint next weekend. My room will be infinitely awesome. I'll take pictures. Does anyone actually follow the links I leave to my web site? Oh they'd better. Mwahahaha....
MSN Messenger hates me. I've been on since 9:30 and it's 10:14 now and it won't let me sign in. Dammit.
Tonight we went to the Rotary Club's Easter Seals dinner. Andrea's an Easter Seals kid because of her arthritis. (Backstory: Andrea was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis when she was not even two. I did a project on it in grade four. She helped.) Anyway, this thing's tradition, and we always get presents and stuff. It used to be that we'd get actual presents, like wrapped up and stuff, and now we get these gift bags. It wouldn't be that bad if the stuff in them was age-appropriate. But this year they actually thought about it. We still got the silly colouring books and stickers, and the candy (which is always appreciated), but I got a $20 gift certificate to a local music store, and Daniel and the other boys his age got one of those Lego Bionicles. I forget what Andrea got but for the family we got Shrek. Shrek kicks ass. And the dessert I had... ahhhh... gorgeously delicious. Brownie cheesecake. Amazing. In the gift basket we won, we got truffles. Friggin' truffles! Friggin' KICKASS CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES! And apple cider! Needless to say, I will gain back all the weight I lost.
Well that's wonderful. I finally get logged on to MSN, and there's nobody there. Fuckers. I haven't talked to Casey in a while. I miss him. I've probably mentioned this before, but I get into my head things that I will automatically associate with a certain person when I see them. For example, Casey and West49 clothes. Heather and Our Lady Peace. Lor and Kevin Smith movies. Katie and basketball and Gundam Wing. Jamie and Hannibal Lecter. Grandma and Holland. The list goes on. When I see those things, I remember the person, and if I haven't seen/talked to the person in a while, I start to miss them. It blows.
I finished reading To Kill A Mockingbird in English the other day. Scout was a ham! Ahhhh! I found that highly amusing.
Mr. Saitz (pronounced sites), the teacher-librarian, is running an intermediate Reach for the Top team, which I am very pleased about. We have a meeting tomorrow. I dragged Heather and Anita along to the first one on Friday and they joined, as well as Éadaoin, Katie and I. There's one guy, his name is Vince, he's in grade nine. And the best thing is, we actually get to play against... *gasp* other schools! Amazing, isn't it? Bowmanville, Campbellford, and I think Courtice also have teams. Maybe Trinity. I hope not Trinity. I've heard things about them. They're really really smart. You have to pass a tough entrance exam to get in to Trinity. Our senior team beat them last year, and even made it to the provincials... I don't think Trinity did. It'd be awesome if we could get to the provincials. The nationals would be better. Casey's school won the nationals last year. I scared him by knowing that. :-P
People like the two series I have going on fanfiction.net right now. (My pen name is Jenna D.) One is called "A New Ego" and it's a blink-182- story about Mark quitting and the new bassist being a complete asshole. The other one is called "Shinigami's Judgement" and in it, Duo's dead and it turns out that the people in Heaven aren't so sure they want him there... so he has to go through this whole courtroom-type ideal. People like them. It makes me feel special. Also, the fact that I contributed to a list of tips for new writers makes me feel special (compiled by Seth Turtle), and that Carter Tachikawa considers me one of her biggest fans. And jawbreaker here on TOD missed me when I didn't note her for a while. I feel loved when stuff like that happens. Thank you!
Well, that was a long-ish entry. I suppose I kinda owe you all one, huh? I get so annoyed when people don't write and call them boring, but then I kick myself because I'm just as guilty. *sigh* Any suggestions on a CD to get with my gift certificate? I'm thinking Incubus.
