It Never Ends 4/30/2002
WORD OF THE DAY:
You will marry LEGOLAS from Lord of the Rings, live in an ancient elven palace in the middle of the forest, and spend your days walking on top of snow and rowing ivory boats and just being beautiful.
What's YOUR M * A * S * H future?
Dudes, I got Legolas. Go me.
I am still very very tired and will probably go to bed early tonight. I learned today that when I come back from Trent I will be greeted with a Quadratic Functions test. AAAHHHH. I gave Brydon my nomination form and I really hope that I'm the only one running, it makes campaigning a lot easier. I don't have to. Which would be good, because campaigning starts on May 6 and I go to Trent on the 7th, elections are on the 14th so if you do the math I have three days to campaign, unless I get a I get myself a campaign manager.
I got updated marks in Math and due to that 91% I got on the last test, I now have a mark of 80.1%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I broke 80! I broke 80! I have honours in Math! Wahoo nooch! *does happy dance* That's up from 76, and now I have an average of 86%!!!!!!! Snoogens!
Needless to say I'm very happy about that.
At lunch today I was hanging in the guidance office with Katie and Pat and the guys (Devin wasn't at school today. Blah.) and Katie, Amanda and I helped Pat write his journal on Fate for English. It's got very little Pat in it, but it doesn't matter. He was worried about stealing our words and we told him it's not stealing if we gave them to him.
Katie and I were reading this comic that Pat made called "Clarke Survivor" with him, Devin, Amanda, Lisa, Mr. Silnicki, Kienan, Ryan, Kyle and a bunch of other people. Ms. Fuller was the host. You know how people on Survivor kinda have their own little designation as to personality or occupation? Silnicki was the mathematician, Ryan was the artiste, Kienan was Trinity Boy (Trinity College is this bigass important school for smart people), Kyle was the liar, Lisa was the sex fiend, Amanda was the student, and Devin was the pervert. Yup. The first challenge was to kill the Big Fat Lisa, who is Pat's manager at McDonald's. Phyllis (Pat's mom) is the Scheming Bitch, and she did something that ended up with Kienan dying. It was great; the frame had guts and stuff and Kienan's head with X's for eyes and the stupid cheesy grin he'd been wearing the whole time. Then Pat killed Big Fat Lisa, yelling "That'll teach you to cut my hours!!!!!!!!" We didn't get to read the rest because the bell rang and Pat wouldn't let us take it to Science. Gah.
I've heard more developments on the stupid rumour thing and people are thinking it's the same dumbass who started the rumour that he was dead. Apparently the guy made a fake CNN page and I'm figuring the MTV page is a fake too. People are such losers with ooodles of time on their hands.
And how come nobody told me that Chester Bennington's wife was pregnant, nevermind that they had a boy on the 19th? Sheesh. I'm always the last to know these things.

WORD OF THE DAY: groundling. I liked kakistocrocy better.
I did not stop yawning all day and I still haven't. I almost fell asleep while we were playing the D Major scale in Strings today, I was just sitting there moving my fingers and bow with my eyes closed until it hit me that I was almost asleep and I made myself wake up.
Dave, it turns out, has a laptop. He had it at school today; bought it off his stepmom. It's pretty cool.
I didn't really do much else today. Hung out with people at lunch. I nearly fell asleep again... Got Devin and Pat to sign my nomination form and I'll hand it in tomorrow morning.
Science was boooooring, we just took up the questions and I wrote some, and almost fell asleep once more. I didn't miss much, we didn't have time to start the next topic. Math was aggravating because people won't shut the hell up. I have homework but I'm too tired to do it.
It's late but before I go I'll ask if anyone has heard from anywhere OTHER than that MTV link whether or not Mark Hoppus is gay. Lor sent me the link today and we're both kinda skeptical about it. There isn't anything at the official blink-182- site as of yet so I'm not sure. I don't really care whether he's gay or not, it doesn't change that he makes good music or that he's dead sexy. In fact if he is I'm proud of him for coming out, I just need to make sure it's official first. If it's a rumour, it doesn't seem to be Mark's year. First he's dead, then he's gay.
I fucking hate rumours.
Later.

Lick It! Part Three 4/28/2002
...continued again...
This morning I was informed that we had to be packed up half an hour earlier than planned so it was a good thing I'd reorganized all my stuff last night. I got changed and took off for breakfast, which was muffins and croissants, fruit and juice. Actually very nice. I had a big carrot muffin, cantaloupe, and apple juice. We had to drag our stuff out to a designated spot in the halls so they could set up for closing and the Chief Commissioner's Award ceremony. I got to act in this little skit, because Central Area is hosting Aggie next year so we had to tell them about it. There was a song and stuff as well. Three of us (I can't for the life of me remember the names of the other two girls) did this little spiel in which I said, "Me too! But I hear next year's Aggie is going to be even better!" and then we (us and a bunch of other people) all did the song, and then we went out and I had the worst line ever.
Chickie #1: Wow, that sounds great! But how am I supposed to remember all that?
Me: *holds up chewy granola bar* Would a chewy granola bar help?
Chickie #1: Of course!
The chewy granola bar had a little sticker on it that had info on next year's Aggie. Aggie visits the Land of Shining Water. Yup. Gonna be in Peterborough. Of course, if I get my Chief Commissioner's Award, it won't be for another 2 years, and watch it be in like, Voyageur Area or something, way out in northern Ontario. And I'll make Mom come too, ha.
Speaking of the Chief Commissioner's, that part was kinda boring. Lots of speeches and shit. We made lots of noise when Dana, Lisa and Heather (from the banquet) went up and Jayne got a picture of Heather pretending to lick her certificate when she came offstage.
After that and Guide's own, we had to sit around in the hall waiting for the bus. They gave out bag lunches which were pretty nice. I got a big poppyseed muffin in mine, it was yummy. I sat listening to Incubus, writing and starting at my picture of Devin I stuck in the front of my notebook. I showed him off all weekend even though it's a really crappyass picture. The bus came at about 20 after 12, and we loaded it up and took off. Watched Troop Beverly Hills, which is a cute movie. I ate some of my lunch. Didn't finish my yummy muffin though. We stopped in Pickering to drop off some girls and then in Whitby where there was a Wendy's. I didn't get anything because I wasn't hungry.
I got home around 3:10. I showed Mom my stuff and told some stories and then took a nice long shower, and put on my pyjamas, even though it was only 4:30. I got on the computer and checked my 129 e-mails and I'm only now finishing up the fics I decided to read. I remembered to e-mail Charlotte. The hockey game is on and the Islanders are winning 3-2 with about 2:30 left in the second period. I've gone through Jimmy Eat World, Better Than Ezra and Hoobastank CDs and am now listening to blink-182-, and I'm off.

Lick It! Part Two 4/28/2002
...continued...
The military museum was pretty cool, looking at the old badges and guns and uniforms and stuff. Some local Boy Scouts built a section of a trench in there, which was neat. We were there for a while and then went to the Bell homestead.
They call it Melville house actually, after Alexander Graham Bell's father Melville who owned the house, but whatever. It's the place where Bell invented the telephone, and about 90% of the furniture there was actually owned by the Bell family when they lived there. It was auctioned off but the staff tracked it down and bought it back. There's artwork in there that Alexander's mother Eliza painted herself. It's a really nice house actually. Next door there's a building that was moved there from its original location downtown, which is the Henderson place, also the first telephone office where you could rent your phone. They have two old telephones hooked up there and you can call each other on them and hook them up with the switchboard. Funfun.
I bought a blueberry candy stick in the visitor's centre and it stained my lips and tongue blue. People were laughing at me. I didn't care. We laughed a lot on the bus ride home and I talked to Ashlee some more, and some girls and a leader from Toronto area. They informed me that the Leafs had won the previous night. Of course they'd have a radio or something, you think they'd leave without some way of knowing how their boys did? Hehe. It was a fun bus ride.
We had this banquet that night and by the time we left my tongue was still blue but I didn't care. Dinner really sucked. The salad was kinda gross, and in portions small enough that two anorexic models could share. Dinner was chicken with mushroom sauce, vegeterian lasagne, corn, glazed carrots, roasted potatoes, and cherry cheesecake and lemon meringue pie for dessert. The sauce for the chicken was actually pretty good, considering I don't like mushrooms, but the actual chicken was soggy. I didn't eat the lasagne but Charlotte said it was okay. The corn was good and so were the potatoes. The cheesecake was kinda mushy, but the pie was nice. Very good.
Now, the licking thing. It started when Belinda, the leader of Charlotte, Amanda and Jayne's unit, tried to steal Amanda's knife. We all know the rule "You lick it, it's yours" so Amanda licked her knife. Another girl named Heather from another unit was at our table and her friends were trying to steal her cutlery, so she grabbed all their forks and licked them. After that it just kinda escalated and Amanda is now known as The Licker. I made an origami cup out of the program and started drinking from it, then Amanda claimed to have licked the paper.
They had entertainment too. There was this band called Jukebox Saturday Night and they're a bunch of old guys but still kinda cool. They played a lot of classic rock and oldies but stuck in a Sugar Ray song. Then there was this guy with African drums and we got to play with them and cool shakers and other noisemakers. We danced a lot. I pulled this one move that involved some jumping and I fell on my ass, but I pulled myself into a spin to make it look like it was supposed to happen. No one really noticed. We did a limbo too, funfun.
And all this in full dress uniform. *wicked grin*
We didn't get back from the banquet hall until after 10:00 and then I put on my pyjamas and played cards with Charlotte in the cafeteria for a while. We talked about books and school and stuff, and stayed for a little bit of karaoke. Didn't go up. I went to bed pretty early. Stayed up listening to Jimmy Eat World and reading Return of the King until they turned the lights off, then I put away my book and waited until the CD was over to go to sleep. The Trojan guy was still looking creepy.

Lick It! 4/28/2002
WORD OF THE DAY: kakistocracy
I'm baaaaaaaaack.
So as I sit here in my pyjamas at 6:11 PM on Sunday, listening to "The Authority Song" by Jimmy Eat World, I look back on the weekend and the only thing that was ever really worthwhile was Amanda licking everything at the banquet. But I'll start from Friday.
Friday was kind of a lazy day. I played Crazy Eights with Heather, Anita, Julie and Keane at lunch and lost. As expected. Can't remember much else. Mom was picking me up after school so I stood around outside with Devin and we talked with a bunch of people until the buses started up. It was a bit chilly out and Devin was shivering like crazy. I was fine, but then again he had his arm around me. After everyone took off for their buses I went inside and got my jacket and dumped my Science books -- no homework for me, again -- then went out to meet Mom at the Coffee Time. She was a bit mad but I didn't care. Went home, finished up packing, took off.
There was a nice coach bus waiting for me when we got to the meeting place. A movie was on, I can't remember what it was though. I sat with Charlotte and we caught up on stuff since we hadn't talked much since the last camp. (Note to self: e-mail Charlotte.) It was a long bus ride, about three hours. We watched Save The Last Dance and stopped at Wendy's.
Arrived in Brantford around 7:30. Dumped stuff in gym and then we had to go register and make name tags. Mine was made of red craft foam and had blue and purple embroidery floss for hair. They had crafts and stuff upstairs and Charlotte and I looked around. I made a couple of "wrapped pens" or whatever they were calling them. Just pens wrapped in multicoloured yarn with beads on them. There was bingo and some other stuff too.
The opening was a little odd. We had the "roll call" which was loud, which is normal. They call out the area and everyone yells. When they called Toronto Area they all chanted "Go Leafs Go" and someone stood up with a jersey. You could always tell who was from Toronto because they were wearing little temporary tattoos, some that were Leafs logos and others that said "Go Leafs Go." Anyway, the weird thing was this tae-bo thing they made us do. Well, tried to anyway. Most of the room was doing the punches and stuff, but we all danced 'cause it was that You-Can-Do-It-Put-Your-Back-Into-It song. Funfun.
Nobody went to bed until really late. We wandered around and got the general feel of the school's layout and stuff, and hung out in the cafeteria. At midnight, it was karaoke time! We sang a whole bunch, it was fun. I can't remember all the songs we did "Respect" and "Stand By Me," I know that. There was another one but I can't remember it. That went on until 2 A.M., but I went to bed at about 1:35. The school's mascot is the Trojan warrior and they have a painting of one up on the wall of the gym, and even though he doesn't look angry, it seems like he's staring at something behind you and it's a bit creepy, especially when you're trying to sleep.
Now, after the majority of the girls go to bed at at least 1 A.M., you'd think they'd let us sleep in. Fuck no. We had to get up at seven. Breakfast was served until about eight. It was pancakes and sausages. I didn't eat it all because they weren't that great.
We went to our sessions at 8:30. I had Decorative Knots. I still have no idea what I originally signed up for but I'm sure Decorative Knots was not one of them, but I went anyway. I learned some simple knots, some of them are really pretty actually. One is called the Monkey's Fist (or Paw, whatever you want to call it) and it has a marble in it. I adjusted the cord so there was only one end hanging out and now I can use it to hit people over the head.
My second session was Cake Decorating, which I remember putting down as a second choice. My cupcake had tons of icing on it... eh-heh. I did stuff in blue with pink accents and ate it for my dessert at lunch.
Speaking of lunch, it wasn't that great. Sub sandwiches, Caesar salad, and pop. I ate most of one half of my sandwich, because it was gross, even after I picked off the onions. The salad was pretty good. I could feel cavities forming as I ate my cupcake though. The icing was very sweet.
I hung around with the girls in the cafeteria until 1:00 when it was time for the afternoon tour. I got the Heritage Tour, which I might have signed up for. The only person I knew on the tour was Jayne and I find her a bit of a snob so it was a good thing I made friends with a girl named Ashlee. I forget where she was from but it wasn't Central Area (my Area); I think she might've been from up north. After the Pottery Tour group that was sharing our bus got off, we sat in the very back seats and chattered away about everything on our way to the Military Heritage Museum and the Bell Homestead.

Where did you go? Cake decorating? Knot tying? Hrm. Sounds like fun though. I've been to youth group rallies like that where we just messed around and had ourselves a grand old time. :) [Ms. Spunky]
More Foam? 4/25/2002
WORD OF THE DAY: truckle
I took a photo trip today, haven't had time to make the pages though. I'm leaving for Aggie's tomorrow so it might not be up for a while.
Speaking of which, I'll be gone all weekend again. You'll survive. So will Devin, although he says otherwise.
Ryan, one of Devin's friends, is working to start an Arts Council at school for next year. We have the Student Council, which is generally everyone, and the Athletic Council, which is kinda below Student Council and does stuff with, well, athletics, and he's wondering why the heck are the arts people being left in the dust. He roped Pat and Devin into it and I went from there, and Katie was helping Ryan and Pat look for Devin and ended up in the meeting with Ms. Foy (the principal) as well. She pretty much said we could do it, we just had to do all the work and stuff.
I got my report card today. My average is 83.8%. I have 95 in French, 87 in Strings, 81 in Science and 76 in Math. I knew my Math mark already but it should go up a little because that test I did really well on isn't included in the report. So booyah.
We started Quadratic Functions in Math. Oh joy. *sarcasm*
I got my French vocab quiz back, I got parfait. Perfect. Booyah.
Well, I'm outta here. See you guys Sunday night, well, more likely Monday.

Starless Night Will Cover Day 4/24/2002
WORD OF THE DAY: audacious
God the Leafs suck right now. It's 4-3 Islanders with a little over 2 minutes left in the game and some dude scored a penalty shot. A stupid penalty shot. You'd think, after the fiasco in the last game, Pat Quinn wouldn't put Joseph in. I'll bet anything Joseph's hand is still bothering him, and look, you've got Corey Schwab and Tom Borasso, two great goalies, sitting right there and you're putting in a guy who let you get killed the night before. Yeah, smooth move Ex-lax.
Ah, yeah. There ends my playoff rant.
We had a vocab quiz in French today that I know I did well on. *grin* Strings was fine, gruelling, really, but fine.
At lunch we went to Ace as planned. Aside from Devin, Katie and myself, Pat, Kyle, and a couple of other guys were there. There were drag queens on the TV.
He pulled Joseph. Gah. Go Leafs Go? They've lost. Oooh, fight again. Big one. Corson got cross checked by some Islanders dude and then cross checked him back, right into the net. Fight erupted.
Sorry, said I was done with the playoffs. Eh-heh.
Back to Ace. Anyway, we watched the drag queens for a bit even though the reception was bad, and Pat was trying to read the paper but he didn't have his glasses. Devin kept stealing my onion rings.
I thought about taking a photo trip today but didn't remember until I was actually on the bus. I usually take photo trips whenever I go out or something interesting's happening but I'm going to take one tomorrow just because. Actually, no, 'cause I want to have better pictures of Devin and I that I can send to Katie so she can print them and I can show them off at Aggie's this weekend. ;-) All hail friends with colour printers.
I got my Math test back today. 91%! Wahoo nooch! Snoogens! AHHHHH! I am very very very happy 'bout that. *super uber-cheesy grin* We watched a movie in Science about the chemistry of explosions. It had little to do with chemistry and more to do with the history of blowing stuff up. Fun.
I finished Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire tonight. Ahhhhhh! It kicked unbelievably large amounts of ass! I heart J.K. Rowling so much. Someone died. I almost cried a couple times. Now I get to start reading The Return of the King and when I'm done that not only will I be done The Lord of the Rings, Dave has this book he wants me to read that he's going to lend me. Actually, he has a lot of books he says I should read. Every other day practically it's "I have a book you should read." I already have a loooong waiting list, but if I get through them all at the same rate I got through GOF (636 pages in three days) it won't take that long. I can read a semi-long book in a day or two depending on the type of language used. If it's really wordy I deliberately take longer so I can pick up the vocabulary.
Mom picked up some applications from her complex today so I'm going to apply for my first job soon. Ahhhh! No other comments.
ER is new this week, it's the crossover with Third Watch. Cool.
I had band today and Katie, Pat, Steven and I hung around afterwards and talked about Music and school with Mr. Sharpe and I set up the time for taking the band pictures for the yearbook. He says the bands are going to Canada's Wonderland on May 27. Nooch.
Anyway, I'm off.

Good Goodbye, I'll Be Fine 4/23/2002
WORD OF THE DAY: chapter and verse
No, I'm not leaving, just listening to Jimmy Eat World again. :-D
The Leafs sucked tonight. No other comments.
I had no homework today. I did my French work in class, didn't feel like taking my violin home, watched a stupid video in Science, and had a test in Math that I probably aced.
Nothing really interesting happened today. We had student council at lunch. All the requests for money went through and we talked about elections. I'm still debating with myself over whether or not I'm going to run; I think they're announcing that nominations are open this week or next.
A bunch of us are going to Ace tomorrow at lunch. Ace is a restaurant a little way down The Strip, this, well, strip of restaurants and stores along the highway. There's a Harvey's, two or three gas stations, a Coffee Time, Ace Restaurant, a Subway, this other restaurant I don't know the name of, waaaay down at the end is a Country Style, and across the road that turns onto the highway is a McDonald's that just went in this year. Pat and Dave and a bunch of other people work there. Ace is a fun little restaurant that has good food.
I went to Daniel's VIP grad tonight. VIP stands for Values, Influences and Peers and it's this program they take in grade six about stuff like drugs, bullying and peer pressure. I took pictures and stuff but I don't feel like uploading them or anything, although I have to send them to Dad and my relatives in Ottawa. Daniel was a tree in the one skit. He was the best damn tree ever.
Anyway, I don't have much else to say, so I'm off.

I can't believe I missed that fight at the end. Instead of watching I was standing out on the street stranded cuz we had a flat tire.
But I DID see that jump from Joseph. Sweet ass. [Static Inertia]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Y'all get to leave during lunch? Man, i wish i could leave at lunch, just that the problem would be that i would never come back. Hmm... what would be "the strip" down here? I think maybe City Walk. But that's kinda like a big ol' outside mall so i don't think that counts. Ah well, have fun or hope you had fun. Later [MidnitePhantazy]

Salt Sweat Sugar On The Asphalt 4/22/2002
WORD OF THE DAY: verbatim
More Jimmy Eat World lyrics. Snoogens.
Mom drove Andrea and I up to school today because Andrea was bringing in a project but I was there about the same time as I usually am so it didn't matter.
I'm on chapter 19 of Goblet of Fire already. I read fast. Malfoy as a ferret. LOL, I can't get over that...
In French we finished up worksheets and started a new assignment; making an invitation to a surprise party. I did all the technical stuff in class, I just need to make it look pretty now.
I really don't like "Blues-it or Lose-it", this piece we're playing in Strings. It's boring. Gaaaah.
At lunch I was bothing Kim. We were sitting on opposite sides of this window and I pulled out a piece of paper and wrote "Kim Likes Blowup Dolls" on it, then put it against the window next to her head. She couldn't see it unless she turned around but Heather and Anita could and they laughed. I kept writing all these silly messages until I got bored. I bothered Kyle by calling him Kelso all day and talked with Pat a bit, and then we found Devin hiding in the computer lab working on a project. I'm supposing it's open-topic, 'cause his is on Nadesico while someone else's is on universities. Nadesico is to Devin what Gundam Wing is to Katie and I. You can do the math.
Speaking of Math, we had a review day today for the test tomorrow. Gah. I only had two questions left so I did them and then wrote six more pages in my book.
In Science we just read some stuff in the textbook and did questions, boring as hell. Katie and I started passing notes and we filled an entire sheet of paper with words and doodles, it was great. Mr. Silnicki was an ass and kept us after to finish taking up this one question. Gah. But anyway, when we left the room I saw Devin at his locker and stood around and talked to him for a while. I told him that I'm going to be away for a while and felt kinda bad. I don't see him a lot as it is and me being gone on weekends kinda sucks, but we'll see if we can do some stuff during the week. Katie took off because she had choir, which I skipped because I'm sick and can't sing, and I walked outside with Devin.
Saw Mom. She came up to bring Andrea in to talk to Mrs. Drury, one of the resource teachers, about her Individual Education Plan (IEP) for next year. Andrea's arthritis often keeps her from doing things like taking long notes, participating fully in gym, and carrying books around for long periods of time. Mom figured that it'd be a good idea to get it all settled now, before summer, which makes it easier on us and the teachers. Good plan. Anyway, we talked for a bit and I introduced Devin to Andrea and Mom. Mom was normal, which I'm not sure is good or bad. Andrea had that look on her face. The buses were starting so Devin had to go, and I gave him a hug, yes in front of my Mom. She didn't say anything. I took them inside and showed them to Mrs. Drury's room and then took off to my locker. I didn't feel like waiting around so I went home on the bus.
On the way home, Walter stopped for some reason just before we turned onto King St. Then we saw this lady come out of a house and it turned out it was Walter's wife. Everyone was awwwing and stuff and she came over to talk to him; we couldn't hear what they said though 'cause we were in the back. We realized we don't even know Walter's last name when the guys were yelling hi to "Mrs. Walter."
They moved tomorrow's TAP day to Thursday so we can get our midterm report cards in the TAP period and fill out our response forms. Gah. I hate response forms and TAP. They're thinking of getting rid of it, which would be good because it's a waste of my morning, like I've mentioned before.
Went to a Leo's meeting tonight. We went bowling. I was on Heather and Mr. Willem's team, we played two games and I got 59 in one and 80 in the other. I suck so badly at bowling. Heather almost broke 100, she had 99. Business went as usual and we're going swimming next meeting. I brought up NPS's upcoming Fun Fair that we'll probably volunteer for.
It's almost 11 so I'm going to take off now. Later.

Later.

On Sleepless Roads The Sleepless Go 4/21/2002
WORD OF THE DAY: lollygag
I'm baaaaaaaack. Didja miss me guys? :-D
I'm surprised at myself. I got everything I wanted to get when we went shopping on Saturday. New jeans, a couple new shirts -- one with flames on it, another that's bright orange and says "I love my attitude problem" and has a monkey hanging off the words, and a dark blue and a light blue v-neck -- new shorts, which is uber-amazing, and a new bathing suit. Booyah! And I got some CDs: Hoobastank's self-titled one, Jimmy Eat World's "Bleed American" and Big Shiny Tunes 6. BST6 is the best CD ever. All the songs on it are great. Linkin Park, Bif Naked, Sum41, blink-182-, Tantric, The Tea Party, Default, Limp Bizkit... Hoobastank are really really good, they sound kinda like Incubus. Jimmy Eat World just kicks, of course. Found some CD holders at Old Navy and got 2 'cause they were cheap. Got another set of good headphones because Andrea's always taking the other ones.
Dad and Julie and I went to Lee Garden for dinner and got soooo stuffed. We had Singapore noodles, vegetables and rice, shrimp and Chinese vegetables and hot and sour soup that was REALLY spicy. I didn't realize it had tofu in it until Dad told me, and then didn't care 'cause it was good. It was really really cold when we left and we walked down Spadina freezing to death until we got to the streetcar stop. Luckily we were just in time for it so we didn't have to freeze much more. We rented Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and I laughed so much, 'twas great, again. Then I went to bed.
This morning we just kinda lazed around and I had to come home earlier than usual because Dad has a project with some karate video he's working on and I have a lab report to type, which I still haven't done. :-P
There was this really cute little kid on the streetcar yesterday. I don't remember much of him or what he said but it was cute.
While we were walking to the restaurant we stopped at this little store and I got some good chopsticks. They had some really cool little swords there that I really would have liked to get if I was allowed to have weapons/had the money.
I checked my e-mail and had 79 new messages from the 1x2ML. Ahhhhhh! At least I'd cleaned out a lot of my other stuff and nobody sent 400+ KB pictures, so my inbox wasn't bursting.
Aaaaanyyhoo, not much else to say.

A Cheap And Bitter Imposter Of Myself 4/21/2002
Gahhh... I did my homework, aren't I a good girl? *grin* I had to ask Jamie for the last question because I didn't bring my textbook home, eh-heh, but it's all good.
The Canucks' game is about to start. Montreal just lost to Boston 6-4, which sucks. The Canucks are leading 2-0 in the series though because Detroit are a bunch of old men with canes and walkers, so I'm betting they'll take the series. It was funny the week the playoffs started 'cause the guys on the announcements were doing their picks.
I took a long shower and ran out of hot water before I could finish shaving my legs. Argh. I managed, but I still had conditioner in my hair so I rinsed it out in the sink so I didn't get ice water all over me. I don't like the cold. I can tolerate the Canadian winter but everything else has to be cozy. I sleep with four blankets sometimes. Lucky for me Devin is a furnace. Always warm. :-D
Speaking of Devin, Dad and Julie proceeded to make fun of me about him this weekend, as expected. On the streetcar they were being coupl-ey and Dad was like, "When Devin's around, you can do none of this, got it?" He read the list I sent him. Dammit. Gah.
Mom found these padding thingies and we put them on my bed so now I won't have the springs digging into my sides when I sleep. Nooch.
Anyway, I'm out, going to play The Game Of Life with Andrea.

WORD OF THE DAY: equanimity
Since I was rudely cut off last night due to time constraints I'll write what I meant to write then now.
As you might have heard, four Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan died recently in what has been called a "friendly fire" attack. From what I understand, the regiment was in the middle of a live-ammunition drill at 3 AM a few miles from the Kandahar base when an American pilot flew over the area and mistook the Canadians' exercises for hostile enemy fire, and dropped a bomb on them. The American pilot was not given orders nor given permission to drop the bomb, but merely to mark the coordinates. After returning to the air traffic control tower, the pilot went out again and that's when the bomb was dropped. Four Canadians died, eight more were injured.
Now, I'm not blaming the Americans in general. It was not their fault. It was the sole fault of that idiot pilot who didn't check to see that it was his allies that were in the middle of a drill he was bombing. Thanks to his blatant disregard for common sense, Canada has had its first wartime casualties since the Korean war fifty years ago, and they weren't even in combat. They were at the hands of their allies. The four members of Edmonton's Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry that died will be sorely missed. The Canadian and American governments have launched an investigation into the incident.
I do hope that everyone thinks about this and applies it to their own lives. Look before you leap. Make sure you understand the whole situation before you jump in and start taking action. It could end badly, much like it did here.
That was about it. Onto today's news.
This morning I got up at 6:45 and thought about doing my hair. Then I went back to sleep and got up fifteen minutes later and actually did my hair. In braids. All over my head. Mom helped me do the back. By the time I'd finished that, eaten breakfast and packed my lunch, it was time to run off to school.
We had a verb quiz in French today and I did pretty good. Got a whole bunch of other quizzes back too that I got perfect or close to perfect on. I got 49 out of 52 on my presentation. Mwahaha.
Dave put blue gel in his hair today. Actually, it's hair glue, and it turned his hair into a lethal weapon. If you go to poke it, you could hurt yourself on the spikes. Seriously.
We hung out in the front stairwell all lunch hour. Dave was downstairs and even though I said I couldn't catch, he threw up the dollar he owed me and I actually caught it! It was sweet. Devin wasn't at school today and Kyle went to phone him, thinking he was probably sleeping in and planning on waking him up. He came back and said that Devin wasn't asleep, he was working on his chemistry project. Apparently it's my fault it wasn't done because I was talking to him too late last night. Yeah, sure. He came to school in the middle of third with his project but I didn't see him. I think Brydon said Devin wasn't feeling well at Ace (a restaurant) the other day; weird, he didn't tell me. I need to talk to him.
We did a lab in Science with Alka-Seltzer tablets. It was fun. Julie and Chantell and I watched the gym class running outside and laughed at the people who run funny.
In Math we did the review for Tuesday's test. I finished it in class.
After school on the bus Trevor or Justin (they're twins in grade 8, I can't tell them apart) was sitting in front of Heather and I and squirting water out the window. It kept getting Heather in the face and we yelled at him, then Walter, our bus driver, got a little mad at him too. He didn't yell. Walter doesn't yell. He's cool.
Andrea left for camp almost right as soon as she got home, and later Mom and Daniel and I went out. We went to storage and I got my sandals. :-D We went to Zellers and got a new hair dryer 'cause the old one died, and Daniel got new shoes and a new shirt for his VIP grad. (VIP is Values, Influences and Peers. It's this program they run in grade six about drugs and peer influences.) His shirt is a silver-gray button-down with a dragon on it. It looks really good on him. We got licorice too.
I should really type my Science lab tonight, before I go to Dad's tomorrow, so I don't have to do it Sunday night. I really should. But I don't feel like it. So there.
I finished reading The Two Towers this morning and now I'm sad. It was a cliffhanger and I'm not going straight to Return of the King because I have people bothering me to read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire which I'll get at Dad's tomorrow. He bought it and The Prisoner of Azkaban a while ago and I left them there so I wouldn't be tempted to start reading GoF before finishing TTT.
Aaaaaanyhoo, I'm off.

Chiiiiiillllllliiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4/18/2002
WORD OF THE DAY: jurisprudence
No, we didn't get a cold snap. I made my chili. Mwahahaha. It needs to age now. Needs more chili powder too. I should add that...
Anyway, today was a day. Did some quizzes in French. Rehearsed in Strings. I bought another muffin and Dave still owes me a dollar. I bought lunch today and there weren't any chicken wraps left so I was stuck getting a BLT. They're not bad, just not as good as chicken.
I hung out in the guidance office at lunch with Katie, Devin, Kyle, Darcy, Pat and some other guys. Darcy finally figured out how to draw a cube. It was funny. We all laughed. Devin put on Katie's glasses and refused to give them back. He looked really funny with them. I got referred to as "Devin's girlfriend" by a different Kyle who couldn't remember my name.
I have my chili right now, it's goooood. Will be better in the morning once it ages.
We did some stuff in Math that was really easy and i got all my homework done in class. Mrs. Loster mentioned the me-decomposing-the-middle-term-and-still-getting-it-right thing again. In Science I got 82.5% on the test. I made stupid mistakes with valences. I doodled in my notebook. Drew a crappy picture of Alex from my book and a picture of Ana, also from my book, looking almost like a Jedi. Katie pointed that out to me. Not much else.
I'm going to Dad's place Saturday morning. Probably won't be back until Sunday evening. I realized that I won't be around for at least the next three weekends and the three days in May I'm going to Trent. Gah.
Anyway, I gotta go to bed.

Gaaaaaahhh! 4/17/2002
WORD OF THE DAY: minatory
I had a really nice entry going and then my computer decided to die on me. *sigh* Here's a condensed version.
French, we had someone in to talk about a summer work exchange program. You go to Quebec and live with a host family for six weeks and while you're there the program sets you up with a job and you earn money, work experience and French skills. It's all paid for by the federal government, but I'm too young to go. You have to be 16 during the exchange, and I don't turn 16 until Labour Day. Gah. Next year.
Before Strings I bought myself a muffin because I was strangely hungry. Pat wasn't wearing his glasses because he knocked them off his dresser in the morning, forgot about it and stepped on them. Oops. The one arm is bent all wonky now.
At lunch I hung out with the gang for a while. We made fun of Heather and Keane and their "flirting" ways. Hehe, always fun. Those two are so in denial... (Sorry Anna. ~_^) I found Devin and we walked around with Pat for a while because Devin was looking for Vickie, he needed to tell her something. Then Pat and I remembered she wasn't in Strings today, therefore most likely wasn't in school. There goes the lunch hour. We saw Pat's sister Liz and she had funky sunglasses.
We had a test in Science and then watched a long and boring movie. Julie and I got bored and started doodling in the margins of my notebook. Kim wants the movie for her birthday. :-P
In Math we had a quiz and it took a bit longer than expected and then we took it up so there wasn't enough time for our lesson and the test got bumped back again. Mrs. Loster said she found a pattern in our work and it worried her. It was decomposing the second term when you didn't have to. She pointed out several people who were following the pattern... including me. But, "the only difference is, Jenna's getting it right." I got perfect on the quiz. Hehe.
Our Lady Peace found a new guitarist. His name is Steve Mazur and he's originally from Detroit. They got audition tapes from as far away as Japan and Australia.
It is reeeeally hot today. At least 30 degrees. I can't believe I'm planning on making chili this weekend. I guess it doesn't matter because the forecast says it'll be back to somewhat normal by Friday. Normal being 12. We had a weird thunderstorm go by. There was thunder and a bit of rain, and then it was gone. They issued a tornado warning for the Peterborough area but lifted it like, fifteen minutes later. Quite odd.
I don't have shorts. Well, I do have shorts, they're just not nice shorts. They're old gym shorts that I don't particularly want to wear. Today was laundry day so I ended up wearing my orange pants, which nothing clean would go with except my black Sum41 t-shirt. I was sweating today, it wasn't funny. Gah.
Well, I'm off.

Apparemment, Je Parle Français Trés Bien. 4/16/2002
WORD OF THE DAY: ominous
The title means "apparently, I speak French very well." Which is true. We did our presentations today and I had this really really long thing to say. And I said it, almost in one breath. People were kinda like, "Woah..." and I got several comments later that I spoke really well. I chalk it up to a 94% in French last year and the fact that Dad's Julie is French and I hear her speak it when she's on the phone with her parents.
Today was reeeeeeeeally hot. 29 degrees Celsius. I think it's a temperature record for today, and it's going to stay hot for the rest of the week. Until the weekend, when it'll go back down to 12, which is normal. Damn.
We did the money allocations at Student Council today. Blah. People want too much. I think, if we give everyone who asked all that they want, we'd be left with a little over $3000 from the $7000 and some we had to start with. Argh. Athletics were asking for $3000 to offset the $6200 budget they set. They want at least four new sets of jerseys for basketball, soccer and volleyball teams. Mr. Sharpe only asked us for a couple of microphones at $250 each. He really wants three, but if we can only get one that's still good. It's nice that he gave us some leeway. Anyway, we did a secret ballot.
Devin said he might run for treasurer. Which is good, because at the moment we don't have a treasurer because he is suspended pending expulsion for a hate list. A hate list, at Clarke. Sheesh. Anyway, Mr. Loster keeps telling Katie she should run for PM but she doesn't think she can handle it. Liz is running for PM and Katie thinks Liz'll be better anyway. She might go for DPM though. Devin and Katie both think I should go for secretary. I might. Even though my handwriting is close to illegible, I'm the only one who'll see it anyway. I'm a bit irked that our minutes are never posted so I'd do that.
Typed, obviously.
We have a whole bunch of tests and quizzes coming up and report cards go out on the 25th. Gah. Science test tomorrow I think. Hm.
Devin was telling me about last night at the hospital. He volunteers at the snack bar with Erin and he told me about her sticking him in a wheelchair and throwing all this stuff on him, and then putting a bedpan on his head. LOL, I can only imagine.
Well, I'm off.

And You Can't Do Nothing 4/15/2002
WORD OF THE DAY: hebetude
Today was Katie's birthday. I sang loudly and obnoxiously during French this morning, as is tradition. Unlike Lor, Katie can't avoid me because she has three of four classes with me. Ha.
Last night were the Juno awards and it appears that OLP got shafted. Sum41 too. OLP got absolutely nothing, and they had five nominations too. Diana Krall and Nickelback were big winners. *sigh* Go OLP! Gravity, out June 11 -- get it.
Aaaanyhoo, I had choir tonight. Funny. I was sitting on the ledge up at the top (our music room is kinda like a split-level) sideways, not exactly the safest way of sitting, and I started contemplating what would happen if I fell off. Katie came up and kinda grabbed my arm so I clung to hers and jumped off on the right side. Of course, I climbed right back on, even though the brick kinda hurt my butt. We had fun singing as usual. Mr. Sharpe kept messing up this one part on the piano and we all laughed with him. Darcy started choking on his own saliva and had to sit down for half a song. We laughed at him. We were in a very laugh-at-everyone's-screwups-and-misfortunes mood, which isn't very nice, but since everyone was in that mood it doesn't really matter.
Devin didn't even come to school until lunch because he was feeling like crap. He didn't look too well either. It was obvious he was really really really tired. Everyone is these days, it's not funny.
Anyway, I'm off.

I Hate People. Really I Do. 4/14/2002
I just head that the stupidass Catholic school board voted unanimously against letting Marc Hall go to his prom with his boyfriend. Those stupid bastards! Have they read Ontario's Education Act lately? It states that all publicly funded schools cannot discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation. I believe that his school is publicly funded, at least in part. And don't forget the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. They're a bunch of idiots, that's what they are...

Roxanne 4/14/2002
WORD OF THE DAY: quiescent
"Roxanne" by The Police was just on and it made me laugh remembering watching Moulin Rouge! with Devin and Pat and Kyle. Kyle can imitate the guy in the movie singing it so great, it's hilarious.
Dad, Andrea, Daniel and I went and saw Duct Tape Forever yesterday afternoon, it was great. Harold finally got kissed! It was so cute. Good movie. Seeeeee it. It was like a big long Red Green episode. Kick ass.
I went out grocery shopping with Dad and got stuff for chili. I'm going to make it on Thursday or Friday to have it for the weekend. I loooove chili and making chili and all things hot and spicy. It's a secret recipe. Mwahahahah.
I might go see a movie today with Katie, I dunno.
Devin called me last night, wanted to know if I could hang out, but Andrea was on the internet until 11:30, so I didn't get the message until then. I hate her sometimes. She said he sounded very enthusiastic. Hehe, must be feeling better.
Daniel's friend Ryan is here in the Mega Blocks van. His mom works for them and so now she has this van that looks like a Mega Block. It's funny to watch people as it drives by.
Anyway, I'm out.

Enough With The Llama Already! 4/13/2002
WORD OF THE DAY: palatable
Yesterday was the band festival. Steven played with a broken oboe and still sounded pretty good. He wants Mr. Sharpe to get a bassoon and a bass clarinet, and if he asks he'll probably get them too, because Steven is Mr. Sharpe's golden boy now that Colin has graduated.
Anyway, I took a photo trip and have to upload it. Until then, here's a picture:
Yes, that would be Devin and I. Katie chose to take the picture at the exact moment I had the stupidest look on my face. Anyway, other than that the picture came out pretty good.
Oooooh, guess what? DANIEL WON! WAHOO NOOCH! They won 2-1. It was great. Daniel got a high-sticking penalty. He's a feisty little fella. Feisty indeed. (Three Musketeers, nevermind.)
After that I went to Katie's party. There was a poll going on about how many cans of frosting went into the cake. It was a pretty big cake. There was a fissure in it that just kept getting deeper until it looked like a butt. A square butt, mind you, but ya know.
Devin got stranded at his house with no one to drive him to Katie's, so he had to wait until his sister got home. Then she couldn't find Katie's house. It is in the boons, but it's not that hard to find. Anyway, he got there kinda late but that was okay. We played pool against Heather and Anita and were losing horribly until Anita sunk the eight ball before she was done with the rest of the stripes so we won. Ha. We lost the second time though, and we just kinds cuddled for the rest of the night. :-)
Everyone loved the car thing. They thought it was incredibly clever. It was pouring rain though, so we sent Katie's little brother out to go get it. She laughed for so long.
Chris, the bastard, turned off my camera. I gave it to Heather to take some pics, because she knows how to use it, and she put it down on the table next to the CD player for a bit, then Chris picked it up and turned it off! BASTARD! I yelled at him for a while. In case you haven't figured out, turning off my camera erases all the pictures. I had some pictures from Daniel's game on there, as well as some funny pictures of everyone else, and some of Devin and I. Chris is a dumbass.
I was going to go home with Heather, but I was half asleep on Devin's shoulder so I didn't go. Tom, Chris and Anita left later, and then Katie's mom drove Lauren, Erika, Caitlin, Devin and I home. It was so foggy we could barely see Lauren's driveway, which is right off the highway. I was worried we were going to go into the ditch or something. I didn't get back until 12:30.
I gave Devin a kiss on the cheek before he left. I could feel the little bit of hair on his face against my cheek when he kissed me back. Thinking about it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. :-P :-)
Ahhhh I gotta go. I'm off.

Somehow Here Is Gone 4/11/2002
I'm back.
I realized I missed History Bites today. I'm ticked. That show is awesome. Canadian too.
We went out shopping while Andrea was at Gems and I got Katie's car. A red 360 Spider Ferrari, convertable, tan interior. I put the key in a little box inside the bigger box with the cookies in it. I put a bow on the box the car is in. Did I mention? The car is 1:43 of actual size. :-P Jamie suggested that I put it in the driveway and give Katie a key, I decided to do it.
ER is a rerun. It's the one where Dr. Lewis comes back. Also involves a kid who's six years old AND has trisomy 18. Normally kids with Edwards' don't live past a year. The parents abandoned him at the hospital, bastards.
Tomorrow's the band festival. Mr. Sharpe has to find an oboe for Steven because his is broken. Again. We call him Steve The Oboe Breaker now. We asked where Mr. Sharpe was going to get an oboe for tomorrow, "the 24-hour Oboe Store?!" He'll do it. He's Mr. Sharpe. He kicks ass.
I gotta go work on Word Junkies. Later.

Yes... it made me quite sad that ER was a rerun. Is it just me or do TV shows do less and less actual new shows each year...?
Take care :)

WORD OF THE DAY: exhilarate
A pretty good day today. Katie and I finished up our French interview and I've gotta type it tonight.
We had 'clarinet practice' at lunch today, just for a bunch of us to work on this one part in Deck the Halls. Afterwards I went up to Guidance because of this thing I heard on the announcements. I'm going to apply to be a contributor to a magazine. Anyway, Ricky Martin--I mean, Mr. McMurray was on the phone for like, ever, so I had to wait around. But that was okay. Because Devin was there. *grin* We talked for a while. We might go bowling or something on the weekend.
Remember that thing with Mark? I ran into him in the hallway today.
Mark: It's not true, is it?
Jenna: What's not true?
M: *shakes head* He's dead.
J: You're not killing Devin.
M: I tell ya, he's dead!
That Mark. I warned Devin, told him about it. He laughed.
I noticed that on the cover of the Simple Plan CD, David's socks say "Porn Star." Hehe.
Anway, I gotta take off.

I Am Their Beautiful Mistake 4/10/2002
WORD OF THE DAY: triskadeskaphobia
I put up my writing site last night. Check out Word Junkies at http://www.wordjunkies.cjb.net. I have two members other than me, one's Erin, and another is some girl I don't know. I feel special.
Devin and I decided last night that we are officially a couple. :-)
Katie and I asked Mr. Silnicki what I'd be missing in Science tomorrow and possibly Friday (band practice and festival) and it turns out, of all things, I'd be missing not one, but TWO labs. TWO! Both of which involve burning things! Burning things! And we have to miss it! He said if we could take off from the festival then we could come in at lunch on Friday to catch up, which would just kick ass... Why Silnicki would trust Katie and I alone with Bunseon burners I have no idea, but it's better he doesn't know that... *evil grin*
Mr. Sharpe seemed to be getting a little frustrated at band today, probably because it's two days until the festival and there's still some parts we're not 100% on. Namely, the clarinet accompaniment part in "Variations on 'Deck The Halls.'" Yes, we're doing a Christmas song in April. It's really hard... argh. We played "Days of Dixie" last in our after school rehearsal today and some of the soccer players that were there commented that "all the band people are really happy right now." Of course we are, "Dixie", however much I hated it at first, is fun.
After Heather and Julia took off, Katie and I wandered around and then when it got to be about five to five, we wandered into the tech lab where Pat and Devin and a bunch of other people were doing some ComTech work. We warned them of the late bus, which arrives at five. Pat, Katie and a bunch of the other people took off as fast as they could because the bus, as if on cue, arrived. I heard Katie yell "Jenna, your Mom's here!" and I called back, "Yeah, she probably is!" Devin gave me this story he wrote for me to read, it's good, despite the cliffhanger!
Dev told me tonight on MSN that he hasn't been feeling like himself lately. Lethargic. He mentioned having a fight with a friend but didn't go into detail, and said he doesn't feel like working out or writing or anything... and yet the whole time he's telling me that if anything's wrong I can talk to him. I had to remind him that the same thing went for him, and, stealing a line from a magazine, "my ear is your shrink." I don't like talking about my problems because I always feel like I'm bitching vehemently and nobody ever seems to pay attention to me when I do anyway. But I remember during the peer mediation workshop Dev and I were partners for this exercise where one person would talk for a minute straight on a topic and the other had to use active listening skills and not say a word the whole time, and one of the topics was a conflict we'd had recently. So I had to yammer on for a minute straight to him about this fight I had with my sister and me feeling underappreciated by my family and I hated the whole thing, especially because I'd practically just met him. But Dev actually seemed to pay attention, even if it was because he had to for the exercise. I told the whole thing in the third person for some reason. I feel comfortable telling him things. It's nice.
I had to get a new notebook today. I filled Jenna's Book: Volume Four in Math today and so Mom and I went to the drugstore after she picked me up from band. There, on the shelf, it was: one of those marble-covered composition books. I have been trying to get my hands on one forever but they don't seem to have them around here and when I do find one, I don't have any money with me. Argh. But now, I have one, and Jenna's Book: Volume Five has begun. Go me.
There's this thing on Discovery that's just finishing up about a set of conjoined twin girls being separated. The doctors thought they shared reproductive organs to they split them in half, but then they discovered another set. Well then. The girls are little cuties. :-)
Katie's party is Friday night. Tomorrow Mom's taking me out so I can find her a present... she's being difficult and not telling us what she wants. I'm going to make cookies and give her a [toy] car as a joke. Hot Wheels all the way. :-P
Anyway, it's late. I'm off.

Everything That Is Real Comes Around 4/9/2002
WORD OF THE DAY: confection
Title is from "What Comes Around" by Ill Nino. Good song. It starts off with the guy whispering "I hate you..."
I saw Devin today. :-D We hung out at lunch. More later.
Today was Jamie's birthday. She pointed out that the bus stop smelled like fish. I did. I sang my cheesy obnoxious happy birthday to her. The bus was early so Rachel G. had to make her stay in the bathroom while Ashley finished decorating her locker. I helped blow up balloons.
In French we got our passe compose quizzes back and I got parfait. Go me.
Today was a TAP day, which kinda sucked. We talked about "Positive Self-Concepts" and then Marc Hall, the guy from Oshawa who isn't allowed to take his boyfriend to prom. Bastard school board.
Strings today. The usual Dave's neck was bugging him and I discovered he has swollen glands. Katie and I tried to convince him that he's sick, but he just says, "No, my neck hurts." BECAUSE YOUR GLANDS ARE SWOLLEN FROM FIGHTING OFF INFECTION, YOU DUMBASS! People. Sheesh.
I skipped band today and went to student council because I hadn't been in a while and I was sick of practicing. I know we have a festival on Friday but we've been rehearsing sooooo much. I'll practice at home sometime to make up for it. We talked about stuff. Liz has this little squeaky bunny she calls Brydon that you can take out stress on. Mwaha ha.
I hung out with Lor, Erin and Leigh after that and we talked and laughed a lot. Liz came by and whispered to me, "Are you going out with Devin?" and I'm like, "Why...?" She was walking away and did a little jump thing as she said, "'Cause that would just be so adorable!" Add another awwwer to the ranks. Then I went to the caf with Lor and I found Devin. *grin* We wandered back to the hallway and Erin and Lor were fighting over a spoon. Erin tells me she eventually won, after she poked Lor with the fork. Erin also says that she's known Devin for practically ever and knows that "he really likes you" and he's "the nicest guy I've ever known." Devin really is a sweetie. We wandered up to the guidance office and found Pat and Katie frantically working on their "Lord of the Flies" presentation. We read some of Katie's poems that she says are crap but probably aren't (I dunno, I'm not a poetry person). I like the third part of this one poem, something about ice. I can't remember.
It was a long lunch because of the alternate schedule so that and Daylight Savings Time screwed everyone over and we went to class like, ten minutes early. Then left. I hung out with Devin. :-) We hugged before we parted ways.
People keep asking me if we're going out now. I tell them yes, even though we haven't officially said anything to each other, but I think it's been assumed between us. I told him about the Liz thing and that I told her "Maybe" but I think it's really "yes," and the look on his face was just so cute. He's just such a damn sweetheart.
Okay, go ahead. Aww all you want. I'm out.

Coffee, Tea, Monster... 4/8/2002
WORD OF THE DAY: raddled
Looking through my e-mails... I have a whole lotta fics I wanna read. *sigh*
Speaking of reading, I have about four chapters left in The Two Towers.
On the subject of books, I'm going to need a new notebook by at least Thursday. Maybe even Wednesday ('s Deceit, LOL); I have about five pages left in this one. The dust-jacket-thingy on it broke off during Science today so I chucked it. The cover, not the book.
I was talking to Pat in Strings today and I suddenly had a craving for Pizza Nuggets, of all things.
We sucked at band today. Really, we did.
I asked Katie why she was pissed off at Anita and she said she'd gotten a "Stay Away From Tom" warning. I thought they were over that ages ago, and so did Katie, but I dunno. Katie is a very intense person by nature and I think perhaps Anita may have misunderstood something she said. I dunno. I ended up telling her about going to Devin's later today and one of the first things she asked was whether or not we'd hooked up. The answer to which is no. I told her about him telling me he liked me though, and she pulled a Nom. Minus the giggling. But there was awwwing.
Argh. I was a bit pissed/disappointed 'cause I didn't see Devin today. Ya know it's something when...
I had a Leo's meeting tonight and we decided to send something to Lakefield. Seven of their students were in a car accident over the weekend and one died, one is in critical condition and another in serious condition, both at Sick Kids hospital, and the others were treated for minor injuries. I think Sarah and Krista are going to call and see if they have a memorial fund or something set up that we can send something to. We didn't really feel like there was anything else we could do besides sending flowers. I have to remember to sign the condolence book in the attendance office tomorrow...
I have Science homework. Balancing chemical equations. Easy shit. I don't feel like doing it. I finished all my Math work in class again today. Multiplying binomials, easy shit again.
Anyway, I'm out.

*laughs* "pulled a Nom"?
I have something named after me, I'm so honoured.
*cheesy grins*
And, I just have to add...
Feeling pissed at not seeing him for the day?
*pulls a Nom* (( i.e. *giggle* AWWWWW!!! ))
But, no, actually I know exactly how you feel.
I had to endure Monday Jon-less.
What a crappy feeling.

I am going to sound so horribly, horribly horribly teenybopperish and giggly and giddy and everything, so I shall write in small letters.

WORD OF THE DAY: septentrional
Daniel had a hockey game this morning and they won, 4-0. They play the same team again tomorrow for the "C" Championship.
Afterwards we went to Einstein's for lunch. I had the baked ravioli and a Caesar salad. 'Twas yummy.
I completely forgot about Anita's skating carnival today until Heather called when we got home. I missed the 1 PM run and it looks like I won't be able to make the 7 o'clock one either. Mom and I are volunteering at an Iron Seat banquet thing at 5, and I don't know how long it'll run. *sigh* I was looking forward to it. At least I'll be able to finish off my volunteer hours though. I have 37 of the 40 required. Go me.
I finished downloading "What Comes Around" by Ill Nino, on Casey's recommendation. I listened to a bit of it last night and it's good. He said they were "like Linkin Park, but heavier and with better beats." Pretty accurate description.
Anyway, I'm out.

WORD OF THE DAY: magnum opus
I can't be on too late tonight so this is a quickie.
Semi-normal day today. We had a fire drill in second period, and due to the extreme patheticness of our school's fire alarm, none of us heard it. We were in Strings. Nobody realized what it was until Mr. Sharpe told us. Had that been the concert band nobody would've known. Anyway, we stood around outside and thanks to Dave, I can actually move my shoulder around! He got rid of the knot there. Said it felt like Jell-O, which I don't quite get, but okay.
Katie and spent lunch in the guidance office yakking with Devin and Pat. We decided we'd go see The Rookie tonight. Invited Pat, but he couldn't come. It was pretty good, very long. There were kids behind us who kept asking when they could go home and another guy who couldn't laugh. Devin said next time we're not seeing a 'jock movie.' Well, really, Katie picked it, 'cause she wanted to see it and there was nothing jumping out at Devin and I. *shrug*
We took up that depressing Math test today. 'Nuff said.
After school, not much. It snowed. It was fluffy stuff, but really heavy, and then there was this part on the road where it just went away, so there's none in Bowmanville and it's all over the ground here. Katie was describing it as a wall of snow and then when we got to the theatre Devin said the same thing.
Anyhoo, stuff to do, only 20 minutes to do it in.

Everything, Everything Will Be Just Fine 4/4/2002
WORD OF THE DAY: garble
Normal day today. Started interview of a famous person for French class, I'm going to be Jenna, the lead singer from Wednesday's Deceit. :-P Gonna wear the sparkle pants.
Dave dragged Katie and I to the caf before Strings, saying he'd buy us stuff if we went. Bribery, always works. "Because you're nothing without stuff," or so Dave says. I got pudding. Did a lot of pizzicato in Strings... argh. My poor fingers... Anyway, we worked on "Minuet from the Royal Fireworks" a lot.
I hate pizzicato.
Band at lunch. I think Mr. Sharpe was getting kind of frustrated, but we're sounding really good on the previously hated "Days of Dixie" anyway.
Later at lunch, I was sitting in the hall throwing around the Jebus Apple (long story. remember, Jebus loves you) with Erin, Leigh and Erika, and Katie joined us later. As a forewarning, Katie told me that she'd heard some of the Bitch Squad were looking to, well, bitch at me, something about my website. I rolled my eyes and kept eating my lunch. So then one of them shows up, and just talked about it. Apparently someone thought I'd created a hate site about a couple of her friends. Yeah right. Like I'd waste my time making a site about someone I hate. Kinda like hate diaries here. I explained that and they left me alone. Good riddance.
I got my Math test back. I didn't fail, but I did only get 67%. The class average was 65%. Argh. Dana got 93% and someone else got a really high mark and I'm mad. I think I can get that one taken off though.
In Science we finished the lab. The second reaction turned blue and the third white. I liked the blue one, it was nice. I've probably said this before but pretty much the entire reason I'm taking Chemistry next year is because it's fun. Ditto for Biology.
Yearbook after school. The servers were down for maintenance so we pretty much just sat around and talked for a long while. Chris and I get another page for extracirriculars, making it 5. Kick. We needed that. We have kind of a lot... Junior band, Intermediate Band, Senior Band, All-Star Band, String Orchestra, Art Club, Choir, Intermediate Reach, Senior Reach, Chess Club, and, maybe, that full, all-sections-included orchestra that Mr. Sharpe's been talking about. I'll have to ask him.
Oooooh, Whose Line? is on. Sweet.

Whenever I do poorly on an assignment, the follow-up is always "But the class average was low!". How horrible it is of me to try and make myself feel better that way!
Yearbook! How cool! What do you do? I'm a Yearbook photographer; loads of fun.

Aiiee Whose Line, you lucky devil.
We only get the repeats here for now. :(
Chemistry is fun... until the organic chemistry comes in the picture. -_-`
Then it's ketones, alkanes, aldehydes and all-de-crap.
*snickers* All-de-crap, geddit?
I'll just leave now.
