It's Gettin' Dead In Here... 10/24/2002

hehe, song that Heather and I made up to the tune of Nelly's Hot in Here. It's funny.

I can't write much, gonna dye my hair in a sec. Red. For my costume. We got the leggings and shirt for it last night. I still need a belt and a sword. It's virtually impossible to find a sword around here that isn't kid-sized. I'll probably end up making one out of cardboard or something. I tried it all on last night and it looks rather cool.

Um... yeah. stuff. took the day off school today to do homework. Co-op midterm that wasn't even started. I still have a little to do but that's not hard.

Anyway, yeah. Stuff.

Did i mention i have a 3-page/1,000 word book report due tuesday and i haven't even read the book. as well as a 3-page illustrative cause/effect essay. Now that is procrastinating... [MidnitePhantazy]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Funny... As soon as I saw your entry title I sang it to the title of Nelly's song even before reading the first sentence of your entry..
RYN: Gyah. I don't know why we got these days off and you didn't. But I'm not one to ask questions.

And your friend went? What does she look like? Where was she standing in line? Did she meet them when they came out too? [Static Inertia]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

to the TUNE of Nelly's song*
Damnit.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A friend of mine collects real swords, samurai swords from Japan. Very cool.

Good luck for whatever you're needing that sword/costume/hairdying for. I'm guessing a play. Sounds fun. :) [lazycowgirl]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Halloween is such a fun holiday! Free candy, crazy costumes, what more could you ask for? lol
I hope I will always be a [child*@*heart]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

problem is, i don't think i'm gonna be able to scam my way out of it.. [MidnitePhantazy]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I keep forgetting it's Halloween tomorrow. It's like I'm in a time warp and the world is moving but time is standing still. College is weird like that - or maybe it's just me. At any rate, it makes for some trippy realizations. I realized that I have no idea what movies are out. Not that I go to the movies, but I haven't watched tv for a month or so. Isn't that odd?
Anyway. Hope you're well. [Ms. Spunky]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope your costume worked out for you. [curly]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

whoa. i made up an alternate song to 'hot in herre' as well but i have forgotten. no memory at all. the crappy thing about red hair is that when you wear blue clothes it looks weird.
love- [jawbreaker]

writing a book? that is cool

Get Back To Where You Once Belonged 10/20/2002

WORD OF THE DAY: ostentatious

I can't believe I haven't written anything in over a month. Stuff has happened, man, and you guys know nothing about it.

So, um, stuff.

School -- I've been going to university seminars now, so I'm not in a rush next year. I've talked to a bunch of people in grade 12 now who say they wished they'd done that. I'm going to everything now, and then next year I'll go back to the ones I like. Queen's, Western, Windsor... Next week it's UofT, Brock, and something else, I think. Anyway, yeah. Queen's has this first year program in a CASTLE in ENGLAND. I want. To go. A lot. Except it's Queen's. GAH!

We got progress reports and I'm doing rather well despite having missed some stuff. And yeah.

Work -- sucks. As usual. Worked with Heather the other night, we had too much fun.

Family -- the lovely thanksgiving feast was last weekend, at Aunt Judy's house. Everyone was there actually, even Aunt Dawn. Anyway, Dad and Julie announced that they're getting married August 23. Because it's after Andrea's birthday, before mine, and before school starts up again. Good stuff.

Aaaand now for the stuff that I can remember in detail.

Heather had a party the Thursday before Thanksgiving. I had to work until 9 but went afterwards anyway. Took pictures. Fun stuff. People left rather early, which was crap. Keane's friend Rob came. There was a rather funny incident when Keane phoned home and got his brother, Chandler. Rob then took the phone.

"Hey Chandler, it's Rob. What's up? ... Yeah... Yeah... Hey, your brother scored tonight... Yeah, with two guys. At the same time... Yeah, he didn't use any Vaseline or anything, it was great... I know man, amazing. Talk to you later."

Keane was about ready to kill him. It was really funny though. Heck, from the time Rob arrived until they left, it was Tell Embarrassing Stories About Keane Time. Rob and Adam told stuff from Cadets, Heather and I told stuff from school. Quite fun, not for Keane though.

Rob also told us the story of a Jackass-type stunt he and his friends pulled in downtown Oshawa. One guy was walking down the street, then Rob went up and started pretending to beat the shit out of him. From the camera angle, it looked real. Then Dean drove up and popped the trunk, and Rob threw the guy (I think his name was Matt) in the trunk, jumped in the car and they took off.

And someone called the cops.

They got pulled over. They asked for ID, Rob gave them his Cadet card. Meanwhile, they got Dean to open up the trunk, and Matt came out saying, "Dude, that was so cool..." Then he saw the cops. Anyway, they let them off because they thought Rob was related to some guy, and that was it.

So Rob is an interesting character, to say the least. Not quite sure whether to like him or not.

And Friiiiiday... was the Battle of the Bands! Whee!

We went to the arena to catch the bus at about 4:20. Hung with Lor and Erin and Leigh, and Andrea went with her friends. The bus itself was packed, three to a seat almost everywhere. I sat with Andrew and one of the guys' moms, I think it was Brian's. It was boring. We left at about 5.

Once there, we almost didn't get in after the security checks because they thought someone had brought alcohol. Apparently, three bands had gotten sent home because of it. But we still got in. I think it had something to do with the moms that were with us. Moms are cool. So we went in, gave our tickets, got our hands X'd, and got searched again. I got the guy. Guy security guards do like, nothing to the girls. He rummaged through my bag, checked my coat pockets and that was it.

The bands there were pretty good. We waited forever to see One Second 2 Late though. We got in there at like, 6:30 and they didn't play until about eleven. A spot was staked out next to one of the sets of stairs. We saw a really good band whose name we didn't catch. I remember the one guy was wearing an orange Less Than Jake shirt. There was another good band called Wild Card. And then there was a band called Fuscia, and then OS2L!!!

I went up front for OS2L. Wahoo! They were great. We got hit by the moshers a couple times but other than that it was awesome. Took lotsa pictures, which we got developed the next morning. They turned out quite well. Anyway, the guys kicked ass. Rob's bass strap broke. Afterwards, Lor was like, "I knew it was going to break! I called it! It broke during rehearsal!"

Talked to Kyle and Rob afterwards, told them they did a good job. Kyle said they screwed up a lot but I didn't notice. Rob thanked me, a lot. When we left I talked to Rob again, told him I was going to Dad's instead of taking the bus back. His mom lives in Toronto too, so we talked about that kinda stuff. Then left.

Waited for Dad outside with Lor, Erin, Leigh and Andrew. Talked and laughed. Left. Told a mom we were leaving so they could keep the head count straight. Went home. Ate. Slept.

'n stuff. Gotta go. work.

Well, cool things are going pretty good. That Jackass stunt sounds hilarious. And good planning with the college stuff... [MidnitePhantazy]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jackass movie next friday.. my friends tell me I should be excited.

Yes, going to university seminars is GOOD! Unless you'd like to end up screwed like me.

Any band with a guy in a Less than Jake shirt must be good. Less than Jake are kings on earth... (I REALLY like Less than Jake)
