Tell Me Your Secrets, Ask Me Your Questions 4/24/2003
School today, still feeling like shit. Did stuff in Math that, once again, I understand the idea behind but not the processes in solving it. Dammit! Why did trig have to get complicated? Why couldn't we just stick with the triangles? I'm good with the triangles, dammit! The triangles brought my mark up to 68! Gyahhhh.... Quite honestly I'm not even aiming for 80 in Math this year. I barely made it last year. All I want is seventysomething. 75, preferably. Because I'm not taking Math next year, bwah ha ha. Which reminds me, I really need to get my arse into Guidance to get that waiver form... I don't want to take Chemistry anymore next year, and need to find out if they'll let me into Grade 12 music even though I didn't take Grade 11 this year. Mr. Sharpe would sign the form, I think.
On another musical note (haha) Pat said he's going to get the music for the part I'm playing in this march-thingy to me soon. He's putting on a little mini-concert in June as a surprise for Mr. Sharpe. Because Mr. Sharpe kicks ass.
Bah. Nothing much else.

I met a guy who said we should play duets together (him on clarinet, me on flute), but he's from a neighboring college where they have a reputation of being antisocial, and he ran off without me getting his number or even saying goodbye. Ah well. My roommate knows him I suppose.
(I realize how random that was. I apologize.) Hehe. :D [Ms. Spunky]

That is nice of you. The concert, I mean. [j.e.]

What Would Pirates Do? 4/20/2003
WORD OF THE DAY: kith
Title from Auren. I love Auren. She's so fun.
The AN'03 forms are off, so hooray! Dad said he'd pick Katie and I up at lunch on the Friday, which is good. Mwahah.
Hung out with Casey all yesterday pretty much. We wandered around town, whacking each other every time we saw something yellow. We stopped by the Easter egg hunt and then went up to Coffee Time. Shawna was working and we saw Erin and Leigh, who had come out to visit her on her break. Ran into Julie and then went into Bowmanville with her and her mom and her sister, and Julie went to the tanning place while Casey and I went to Zellers. Went back, walked around with Julie for a while until she decided to go home and then Casey and I sat around in the park talking for a long while. Went home, and Casey played Perfect Dark and Mario Kart with Daniel while goofing off and going on about "pistol-whippin' ghetto style yo" and such. I went off to work at five.
Work was kinda sucky. Slow. Didn't do much.
Went to Anita's party after work and we all completely humiliated Darcy. Basically, we stole his clothes and he was running around in his boxers trying to find his damn pants. And then we lost him while he was trying to find his pants. Really, Ryan Frank had them. We asked the few people we saw if they'd seen a guy with no pants running around. It was funny. We finally gave him his clothes back. It was cold. Darcy was bitter for the rest of the night.
We played football in the dark and when it got booted over the fence into the neighbor's yard again, Colin and Darcy hopped over to find it. When they did, Colin scaled back over no problem. It took Darcy at least three more tries to get up and fall over. Hehe. There were antics with people hiding in the shed. Played ping-pong for a bit, became co-Twister Champion with Katie, and we watched the first half of Pearl Harbor for no apparent reason. Ate too many chocolate eggs, made fun of lots of people, the usual. Good times. Got home at twenty to one.
Today I pretty much sat around. Mom put out some chocolate eggs and stuff, which we rounded up. Got Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and some film. Watched Harry Potter. Cut out the fabric for my shirt. Went to work 5-9:30. Julie and I closed early because we ran out of bread.
Now I'm online. Hooray. Tomorrow I don't have to work, so I plan on working on my costume and sitting around some more. Ooooh fun.

That whole Darcy's pants thing made me laugh pretty damn hard.

sounds like a dandy time except for work being sucky. Hmm... how did i emberass a friend? Pretty lame but... my friend tyler fell asleep in the car and we couldn't wake him up(poured water down his back, hopped on the bumper and shook the car). So we all got out and set the alarm off. he woke up terrified... [MidnitePhantazy]

Mais, Je Ne Sais Pas! 4/12/2003
WORD OF THE DAY: taradiddle
Hmm. Stuff. Well. All my Biology stuff has been moved around so much this week that the pages in my planner have quite nearly gone on strike. But I got perfect on my quiz, so booyah. And I got perfect on a Chemistry quiz, AND I got 82% on my Trig test. Excellent. (Of course now, I'm doomed in Math because I always have to get higher than I did on the last test, and so far, there is no way I'm going to get higher than 82% in trig functions.)
So I've been having a fairly good week at school.
Thursday was the student-teacher hockey game and the teachers/alumni won 9-7. They were certainly helped by the fact that Mr. Morrison played on an NHL farm team before he became a gym teacher. He scored the first goal barely a minute in, and another one barely a minute after! And someone took Mr. Silnicki out and I heard he dislocated his shoulder or something. Don't know who did it, also heard that I may have been Imran or even Stacey. Josh Westrink and one of his buddies started a wave. It was funny. Some of the guys wrote "Marry Me Mrs. VanderWall" across their chests because she was playing and she can barely skate; nevermind that she's already married. There weren't enough of them, so they all had like, two letters each on them. Heheh. Ms. Colville wore figure skates.
Got a ride home with Heather and arrived before Mom got back from work. Gyah. BUT there was a big envelope sticking out of the mailbox. I thought it might be another university prospectus (although I'd gotten all the ones I remember asking for), but no. It was THE Fat Envelope from Collège Saint-Charles-Garnier.
Bloody hell. I opened it right away.
*grins insanely* I got accepted to the Summer Language Bursary Program! I get to go to Quèbec City for ALL of July! And the only thing I pay is registration!
Ohhh dude. I am so excited, typing cannot convey it. You all remember how much I loved Quèbec City when I went in November, and now I get to spend a month there. Blood-y hell. It'll be great.
Yeah, and the invitation for Dad and Julie's wedding came the other day. It's going to be in Quèbec to, at a manor in the Laurentian mountains. Ooooh pretty. So I get to go to Quèbec twice this summer. Awesome.
Last night Heather and I went out and saw Chicago again because we're big losers. We took pictures while running around in Zellers and the like. Because we're assholes as well. We went to McDonald's afterwards to get sundaes and there was a huge HORDE of wiggers outside, some of them directly in front of the door, smoking, of course. When we came out, they were gone. Back to the movie theatre to meet Heather's dad, and AHHH! They had ALL migrated over of there! There were like, forty of them! It was nuts! We saw Shannon and her boyfriend Jeff, and Darcy and Ryan Frank. We made fun of Darcy and then Heather's dad was there so we went home.
I rented Final Fantasy VIII last week and have become addicted to watching the new game intro over and over again because the music is great and it's rather intense. Navigation throughout rooms and such is much trickier, I find, but then again, I suck at navigating video games. I liked the function in FF7 where you could hit Select and the little hand points to you and little red arrows show all the exits. I was so pissed off when I was trying to assassinate the sorceress because I didn't know where to go; then I found a very nice walkthrough online and discovered that apparently, General Caraway is there AND there's a door in the gate. Who knew? Not me. Anyway, I'm trying to get past stupid Oilboyles right now. I got pissed off at them so I took a break and came online. Supafun.
Anyhoo, gotta go.

And You Want Me To Go Without 4/5/2003
WORD OF THE DAY: importunate
Friday was a snow day because of all the ice and stuff. Yeah, a snow day in April. Only in Canada.
I've been sitting around doing very much of nothing. I've been reading The Three Musketeers, working on my book, fiddling with my web site, sitting around watching TV, the usual. I went out shopping with Heather yesterday, which was quite the ordeal.
We decided to catch the 1:45 bus into Oshawa. We were there at 1:40, and we waited. 1:50 and the bus hadn't come yet. So, bad weather and all, we walked down to the previous stop, where they had a shelter. Which was a good plan, because it started raining shortly thereafter. We sat around, amusing ourselves by making fun of rednecks and singing stuff from Chicago, getting irritated at every truck that we thought was a bus and even MORE irritated at the fact that three buses went into Newcastle and none came out. We waited in the cold for an entire HOUR and decided to leave, just before ten to three.
Of course, once we were halfway up the street, one of those three buses left Newcastle. Fuck on a fucking stick.
We made our way back to Heather's house and her mom drove us to Oshawa. She had just gotten back from picking up Doug, Heather's brother, from the train and they were going to go out to eat, so we all went to the East Side Mario's at the mall. Yum.
Heather and I then ran around and bought stuff. She was shopping for her parents' anniversary presents, because they were throwing a surprise party today. She got her mom Dreamcatcher by Steven King and her dad the Men With Brooms DVD. Also got Casey the Jackass movie for his birthday, which she said she wouldn't get him. We also looked for stuff for Katie's birthday. Heather got her pyjamas from La Senza and I got her some funky socks and the new Linkin Park CD. And we got ourselves ice cream at Laura Secord, mwah ha.
The dude at Thrifty's, where I bought the socks, was reeeeally cute. Kinda shy, but really cute. His name was Jeff.
Went home, sat around, wrote, read, stuff.
Dad didn't come out today because there were frozen cars abandoned in the middle of his street and he didn't even want to look at his car. And he saw someone almost slide completely through the intersection of Glen Manor and Hubbard, which was not fun. He let William out and the poor dog was sliding all over the place. He weighs at least 110 pounds and still wouldn't break through the ice -- which makes sense, because I'm 140 and I couldn't -- and any ball you threw would just go forEVER on the ice. He's going to try to come tomorrow though.
I should work on my Biology. I have a paper due Friday. But I won't, because it's ten thirty and I'd rather work on the Keep Frozen Productions web site.
Small update at my web site.

WORD OF THE DAY: artless
Meh. Today was today. Buy-yourself-something-because-it's-Wednesday. (Bought one of those excellent oatmeal chocolate chip cookies from the cafeteria. Mmmmm...) Mr. McMurray lent me a video about the Queen's University International Study Centre at Herstmonceux in Sussex, which I just watched. One of the guys they interviewed was from Bowmanville, which is cool. Ahhh... the castle is soooo pretty.... :-)
Pat had doughnuts at band again today. No one would eat the last one so he kinda shoved it off on me. Because I'll eat anything and he knows it, mwahhaha.
Yeah. Nothing much else.

well, since you didn't get thrown out of a plane without a parachute only to land in a field of thorn bushes then ran over by an flaming armored car... i'm glad to head things aren't that bad! [MidnitePhantazy]
Yeah. Nothing much else.
kumquat smoothies.
